I'm heading on vacation in two weeks and I'm going to have a lot of down time. So, why not read a graphic novel or two on the flights and while relaxing on the beach? You all know by now what characters interest me and what appeals to me, so I want everyone to recommend THREE graphic novels and give a short reason for each.
Gracias!
And yes, Sinestro Corps War is likely going to be one of the purchases, lol.

Pretty sure SCW is collected in two separate volumes due to its length. I recall seeing a single collected edition, but I can't find it now.
Let me think of other recommendations.

Nice. Time to finally catch up to GL then.
Do you want exclusively Marvel/DC recommendations, or is Vertigo also fair game?

I'd prefer to keep it restricted to Marvel and DC, but if there's something else you hold to a high praise and think I'd enjoy, it's worth a mention.

After all, I'm spending a decent amount of money, so I'd prefer to play it safe and keep to stories involving a cast I know I enjoy. But we'll see.

Ever read a Superman story? Death of, when I was younger. The character doesn't appeal to me all that much, tbh.

Did you ever read Marvel Knights: Madrox?

War of Kings, Realm Of Kings, Thanos Imperative. I'm not sure If you like Cosmic characters. I liked current Drax and enjoyed Annihilation a good deal. Blackbolt has always interested me, but Sinestro Corps War might be enough of a cosmic plate for me.

Did you ever read Marvel Knights: Madrox? Not sure if it was Marvel Knights, but I read the Multiple Man volume that took place before PAD's X-Factor. Definitely a good (and surprisingly funny) read.

Daredevil: Yellow was great.
@ K4tz - Aye, that is what I was referring to. I dunno, X-Factor is the natural follow-up to it, and even Phantom (!) vouches for its quality, but it's more easy to appreciate in the long run, as opposed to a single TPB.
I'd definitely recommend Magneto: Testament, but it's not a particularly light read for vacations.

Have you ever read Dixon's General Grievous miniseries? Also, Star Wars Visionaries has an origin story on Grievous and Durge, if you never read that. Both are in trades. For Marvel/DC, do finish SCW. It was a fairly worthwhile story arc all in all. (I know you already intended to buy that, but I am just reinforcing it. )

But I never read those origin stories "For Marvel/DC, do finish SCW. It was a fairly worthwhile story arc all in all. Mini series, yes. But I never read those origin stories Visionaries is a collection of short stories based on concept art for RotS. Some of them are canon, some not. Grievous' origin is one of the better stories. For Durge, I guess it was not an origin story, per se, but it does take place about 1000 years before the movies and explains a little of his past.

Do you happen to know if those tales are in the same graphic novel?
