The Spectre has always been a character who interests me... mainly because of his great levels of Supernatural Power...

We just don't know a lot about him and there is so much more, I feel.

Excellent read, highly recommended, yet difficult to find.

I like Spectre but much prefer the character at the lower power levels of the Golden Age, the way he was depicted in More Fun Comics. He could still do high end feats when required to (like when facing his enemies Zor and Kulak who were more powerful than his base), the difference was that to do so he approached the presence and asked for help (referred to simply as the "voice" in the GA). Since the only times he was ultra powerful were when the presence actually increased is power to deal with a specific threat (and only ever seemed to be to equal or just below levels so even then Spec' had to fight for the win) it made for much better battles (such as they were back then in a story usually contained in 10 to 12 pages).

What ever happened to the Presence?

Corrigan is easily my favorite host for the Spectre. The stories were top notch, but I also liked the change Hal brought to the Spectre, but that's just me.
