Is that really different from any other top tier character? True, when it comes to characters with a lot of power and diversity in their power sets, writers can make them do what plot requires them to do. Its why in Astonishing Thor he can KO living planets by getting it on with a hot goddess, smash mountain sized portions of Ego to save a space station with a single toss of Mjolnir or defend much of the planet from the large debris from two living planets blasting / eating each other nearby while talking one of them out of it with a fragment of his divine essence, etc and have the reader not shake their head in disbelief as the character himself as been doing nonsense like that for decades. Which is why if Thor needs to do something more similar to his classic years, he will, cause he is Classic Thor. A lot of characters with power behind them are all on the same bus, especially magic folk and cosmics.

I'd still back Orion, though it would be interesting to see how powerful he'll be in a few months when he finally shows up in DCNU and gets into a figh with Wonder Woman.

Morals on? Orion wins easily. Thor isn't going to be using his classic powers in a morals on encounter. He is going to fight like he morally does-an idiot. I just finished all of his encounters(and by that I mean battles) with the destroyer armor. Even after several battles in which Thor knew the only way to win is to bfr(and by that I mean teleport) the destroyer somewhere else, Thor still chose to fight the destroyer physically instead of replicate a winning formula.

Not if Thor uses the very best of his abilities at his disposal all at once.

Not if Thor uses the very best of his abilities at his disposal all at once. I might prefer Thor but the same could be said for Orion. The astroforce allowed him to match Darkseids omega effect. if he actually gets the mother box to allow hus rage his beserker strength would be off the charts plus that would free up MB to do all the other things it's capable of like matter manip etc.
