A'ight, so this is how things work. You tell me what you want outta life. It can be anything in the world, from getting a date with a pin-up model or saving your kid from whatever disease he's been diagnosed with. Then I tell you to do something. You do it, then your wish comes true. Simple as that. No strings attached, no twisting or corrupting of your wish on my part, none of that crazy stuff. You tell me what you want, I tell you what to do, and things get done.

Alright, now that that's outta the way, to find out what I want you to do, you need to go to this site. Once that's done, you come back and post your results. Be sure not to leave out any of the details.


Now you may say that this is a trap to get you to do something bad. I say, "maybe, maybe not." The point of the matter is, if you want something bad enough, you should by all means go out of your way to get it. I'm just merely the guy to help you get it. Don't believe me? Still think I'm full of it? Well, I want you to go Hulu, and search for the show The Booth at the End, and see how other people fared.

You see, The Booth at the End is all about asking a simple question. How far are you willing to go to get what you want? There are options out there for anything and everything. Sometimes people do well to leave things up to chance, and sometimes things work out. Other times, people look for a little more certainty. This man in the booth at the end gives them that certainty--that assurance. Sure the means may be a little questionable, but means are merely a method to get to an end, right?

So even if you're not too keen on doing something, at least watch what other people are willing to do. You might be surprised, you might not be, it's just a webshow. As for myself, well, I'm just interested.

Of course it was predictable. Wasn't trying to be unpredictable, just wanted to make a thread for a show in a different way than I normally do.

It's cool, but it fails as a show. I knew what to expect just listed something random I want then passed to see the first task. When I saw what it was I dropped off the site because it felt stupid.

I know, but the viral marketing and the show link both prove failure in the show especially since the results can't be accurate or believable.

Wait, what? I'm not following. Or you're not following. Or something. The show's just supposed to be something you watch for entertainment. Nothing about it is supposed to be accurate, or even believable because it's entirely fiction. You watch it, you see the characters talk to some guy, and he tells them to do something.

The website is marketing for the show because it puts you in the shoes of some generic character from the show talking to the man who grants wishes. They chose the task that they chose just to be generic. That website doesn't matter in the slightest, other than exposing people to the general premise of the show first hand. It's not meant to be a psychological test or even any real thing to test your morality. It's purpose to expose you to how the show works.

I guess I shoulda been more clear in the OP about what this thread was all about. My fault.

My point was that the show doesn't seem be well thought out because it fails on two levels of logic.

Well, I think you missed something major because it doesn't seem that you're looking at it for what it is. The premise is about is simply a genie granting wishes for a price. That's it. It's not really meant to be anything beyond that, and I thought the links did a fairly decent job telling that. Either way, it's there for you to watch. It's a webshow that comes out with a new episode every Monday on Hulu. If it's not suited to your fancy, that's fine. I just thought I'd share it.

Anyway, having just caught up with all 4 of the episodes, I feel that it's a brilliant set up and certainly well thought out. Yeah, general premise is about people asking for wishes, and getting them answered if they do things, but the primary focus of the show isn't about the wishes at all. In fact, you don't even get to see the people carry out their tasks. There's no action of any kind. It all boils down to them talking to the "man" about it, and the best thing about it is that it doesn't need any of that pizzazz. It's a very simple, very solid group of stories all being strung together by some unknown force centering around a man who's doing nothing but listening to what these people have to say.

It's definitely worth watching. So far only four episodes are out for it, and it looks to be wrapping up some time soon, so there's really no major investment. Just a good way entertaining way to pass time away. I highly recommend it to those who're bored looking for something to do.
