Hmm, see I liked all of them so it's not easy.
Halo 3
Halo Reach
Halo 1
Halo 2
ODST
I don't think any of them were bad so it's here nor there on the difference between them. I think Halo 3 was probably the most complete game. Halo: Reach was even better in terms of gameplay, graphics, etc but the story is less epic and more centered on Noble Squad and their experience more than Master Chief and the entire Universe.

Just like you said, they all rock. So, the gap between them aren't that great.

The only thing bad I could say about Reach is this:
In every other Halo game there is a sense of wonder and even fear at what will happen or come to pass. The wider Halo Universe always seems to hold some special mystery, even at the end of Halo 3. In Reach, right from the get go you have a pretty solid idea what is going to happen. How you get there is the only secret to uncover.

So, what didn't you like about ODST? The prospect of being such a vulnerable human and the open world was really hit or miss with most people.

I have Halo, 2, 3, and ODST. I've Played Wars as well. I've yet to play Reach though :/

What did you think of Halo Wars? It was well done. I enjoyed it besides some minor flaws, but every game has those. The best of it's kind on console. On PC? Thats a different story haha. |

Agreed. I think Halo Wars was an excellent example of how an RTS should be on a console. It was extremely simplistic in comparison to most, but you can't have a fully fleshed out RTS done properly on the console (primarly due to lack of controller options). On the PC it's nothing, but it's a perfect fit for the 360  |

Favorite Halo weapon? For me, it's easily the Halo 1 pistol. It was the Needler. When You could dual wield them in Halo 2, I was a happy player! Despite them being a noob weapon, they were fun. Dual Maulers or the Shotgun from Halo 3 are probably my favorite. |

n00b! lol. The shotgun in Halo 3 isn't bad, but talk about being a purely CLOSE range weapon.

I got to play ODST for the first time this weekend.
Unfortunately, there were only two working controllers. 1P was the guy who owned the game. 2P was being shared between myself and this annoying-as-a-chihuahua-on-steriods seven year old.

"Fine. Whatever."
*he plays for a while and then dies in the middle of a fight*
"Ok, you died. Now it's my turn to play again."
"NUH-UH YOU WERE PLAYING FOR LIKE FOREVER. I SHOULD GET TO KEEP PLAYING."
"But you made that rule yourself. It's my turn now."
"JUST LET ME DO ONE MORE FIGHT."
"Fine. Whatever."
*he dies again a few minutes later*
"Ok. My turn now."
"NO! LET ME KEEP PLAYINGGGG!"

Halo: Combat Evolved is the best. I'm tempted to buy the revamped 10th Anniversary when it comes out in November. I absolutely loved that game and I played it all the time. I was so freaking good at it that I could beat my brother and two friends in multiplayer 3 on 1 to 50. Hang 'em High was my favorite map and would love to see it in the next Halo game. Halo 2 was good, and Halo 3 was great. I think I played Halo: Reach with one of my friends and beat it in a night, but barely remember anything about it. I didn't play the multiplayer either. I played ODST for about 5 minutes but didn't like it for some reason which I don't remember, so I probably shouldn't rate it.
So on pure enjoyment at the time I played the games, I would rate as follows:
Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo 3
Halo 2
Halo: Reach
Halo: ODST
I'm really looking forward to Halo 4. I hope it comes out sometime next year and it is excellent.
