It was a great film. I have heard a lot of complaints about how the surrogates seemed a little mechanical in their acting. I am confused as to why this is a problem seeing as how that is exactly the point of the movie. Willis plus explosions is always a perfectly delectable combo. The acting is strong and there was not any part of the movie that pulled me out of the immersion due to faults. Script and plot were good. Excellent action and CGI. There really is not anything to dislike about this movie. It is based on a comic with a message about our continuing dependancy on technology and how it disconnects us from one another. My only problem with this film is that it is too epic. Certain details about the film are changed from the comic to make it more the action film it is rather than the detective comic it was. I understand why they did it and the important message is still very much in the film but I cannot help feeling like it would have been a bigger hit with the masses had they not put so much hollywood into the movie. Sometimes quietly complex works. However, the action was great and the effects were superb. I suppose if they made it a translation rather than an adaption, they were worried that people might not care. That they might not see what the big deal was about losing the surrogates and the effect it has had on the general public. If you read the comic before seeing the movie, understand that this is an action film adapted from a detective comic and you will be pleased with the film. Bottom line, it is a great film with excellent everything. The only failing is that it was just too much POW where it was not needed and not enough where is was needed. I give it 4 stars because I came into it wanting the comic, which may be a failing on my part.

This movie is simply great. It is an incredibly violent movie though and would recommend caution when bringing the kiddies to the flick. Jamie plays a district attorney that becomes more concerned with his stats than true justice and that is what his failing was that got this movie in motion. Butler's home is invaded and his wife and child are savagely murdered in front of his eyes but because he blacked out from his own wounds, his testimony is not as solid as Jamie would like. Jamie unknowingly strikes a deal with the murderer to have the accomplice slapped with the death penalty while the killer only gets a few years. This, to say the least severely frustrates Butler's character. Fast forward ten years later. The accomplice execution is underway but something goes horribly wrong. Instead of a painless end, the convict experiences extreme pain and has blood rupturing from his body. Jamie suspects the killer he made a deal with is behind it but soon moves his attention to Butler's character. The movie has an interesting twist and it is revealed that Butler is no mere toy tinkerer but a super brain spy killer that was the best there was at what he did. So good that even while he is in prison, the spy informant has the jitters revealing this information to Jamie's character. It is a story about redemption, but not for who you may think. Excellent acting, plot, action and violence. Not to mention certain elements of humor. During the movie, you don't know who you are really rooting for since both main characters are damaged. One is trying to just get by in the system with prestige, the other is trying to bring the system down because he does not believe it to be just. My only complaint is that it did seem a little short. Even though it runs nearly two hours, it feels like it could have been longer. Otherwise a virtually perfect film. Smart villains are always the scariest. I gave it a solid 5 stars.

Easily one of my favorite zombie movies. Great opening scene with the slow motion. You catch all the intricate, gruesome details. The main character seems to be intentionally molded after Michael Cera, which is okay. Jesse Eisenberg did a great job with it. He seems to survive with a strict set of rules that apparently, no one else manages to get. Woody Harrelson is Mr. Unkillable and is thoroughly funny. Emma Stone is incredibly attractive and Abigail Breslin seemed to have just jumped a few years in age since Little Miss Sunshine, convincingly outsmarting the two main characters on two occasions. Bill Murray makes a small appearance. His exit is so hilarious. In no way would the situation that unfolded be a good idea as a joke, which is what he, Woody, and Emma thought up. I don't want to spoil it for you as it is one of my favorite scenes in the movie. There is only one thing that drops this movie from a perfect 5 star zombie movie for me, that is the unlimited ammo. Another would have been the levity of the movie regarding the post apocalyptic situation, had it not been for the fact that it is a comedy movie, so I let it pass. It plays well actually. So that is it people. If you love zombies, comedy and Woody Harrelson, this is the movie for you. I gave it 4.5 stars.

I had a feeling this movie was going to be bad before I saw it and was saddened that I was correct. It is almost as if the director assumed that since this is a movie based on a comic series, that it should be directed towards children.... Or the mentally challenged. Everything about this movie seemed to emulate the directors obvious lack of interest in making a serious, well done movie. I guess the director doesn't know that most comic readers are actually young adults. Which is too bad because the Fantastic Four do not have many fans and alienating the few the franchise does have is never a smart move. The only thing that was really good about this movie was the special effects and the Silver Surfer scenes. He was the only one I took seriously in the film. Even the naked Alba scene was so poorly done that it wasn't even enjoyable. I gave this sloppy mess .5 stars.

This movie was actually surprisingly good for a John Cena movie. Now that is not to say that it was a great movie. Truth be told, it was forgettable. The quality of acting was just okay. It was a lot better than I expected it to be though. The plot was not bad and the setup and twist at the end was predictable... Very predictable. Overall it was an okay movie that just like many have said, "... Pays homage to 90's action flicks..." and it does. If it had been released the same year as Die Hard: With a Vengeance, it would have raked in some serious cash and John Cena would have been taken seriously as an actor (Okay maybe that last part is a bit of a stretch). But as it is, he is going to have to continue working his way up the ladder. But at least he is improving a great deal. I actually look forward to what he is able to do with his next role. He is no Dwayne Johnson in terms of growth but I think he has some talent. I gave this a 3 star rating. Do not waste money on it at the video store. Get it for a dollar at a Redbox and be sure to return it the next day. It is worth seeing once for $1.

This movie was by no means epic or groundbreaking. It was a simple movie with a well used formula. Bruce Willis is a demoted FBI agent who just does not know when to keep his mouth shut (surprise) as far as his superiors are concerned. He is doing grunt work until he is assigned to a missing boy case. When he finds the boy Simon (played by Miko Hughes) all hell breaks loose. We discover that the boy is an autistic sevant. It is plenty of action and thrills during the movie and Miko is brilliant for a child. He even spent time with actual autistic children to properly portray his role to the best of his ability. This role is nothing new for Bruce, so he fit right into it very well. Alec Baldwin was an okay villain, though he did not really impress me much. Overall the movie was pretty good but not great. There was not a lot of character development on anyones part other than Simon. It was mostly a movie about plot. But as I stated earlier, it is a well used movie formula, but a great formula so the movie was good. I suppose as the saying goes, "If it aint fixed, don't broke it". I gave this movie a 3.5 for its lack of originality but otherwise good qualities.

You know, this movie was a nice surprise for me. I expected it to be really cliche and a bore, but I can honestly say I enjoyed it. The ending was predictable, but eh, you can't win em all.

.5 stars? Ouch. While I agree it's not by any means good movie, I'd say it was pretty medicore.

This movie was pretty awful but at least it was better than the first, I would say. I also thought that their rendition of Galactus' was actually pretty cool.
Still, awful cheesy movie that can only be enjoyed through ironic campiness, in my opinion.

I dislike that film with a passion. The trailer was the best thing that came out of it. Watch that, it gives the false impression that the film can't possibly be as bad as it turned out to be.

That said, you can actually see the shape of his helmet during one of the close-ups.

I think the part that really pushed me over the edge was the bachelor party. That was terrible. No wait.... Actually the entire thing from beginning to end was terrible with the exception of Silver Surfer. Galactus was pretty cool as well but since he had just a few seconds in the film, I skipped over him.
I am actually a pretty harsh movie critic so some will probably not agree with my .5 star ranting.

Yes. It was an enjoyable film. I just wish I had chosen to watch the movie first before reading the spectacular comic (fanboyism).
I wonder about the Walking Dead television series for the same reason.

I have never walked out of a movie before but those listed movies actually made me grab my armrests to get up.

The film can be summed up as a failure by the simple fact that the Surfer effectively destroyed Galactus on his own.
Since, you know, he had the power to do that, why on Earth did he remain at his service?
