I need a new video game.
I need a new EPIC video game.
Now I don't mean epic like some asshole with a popped collar being like "this mountain dew tastes epic!!!1!" or a 6 yard pass for a first down and someone with body paint screaming "what an epic catch!!!!1!" or some kid with his pants falling down saying that "Fast Five was so epic, man!!!!1!"
I mean I put on my shining (possibly space) armor that chicks love, assign my giant (possibly laser) broadsword to left click and my level forty lightning bolt to right click and I go kill a dragon, a black knight, a skeleton king and/or a (space?) demon lord to save the entire freaking kingdom (planet, whatever) with enough story to drown Michael Phelps in if I should so choose epic.
You see, I've been playing a lot of Dead Rising, Red Dead Redemption, GTA4 and Halo ODST and my total accomplishments in these four games combined is saving around 100 people and putting around 10,000 in the ground. There's no sense of accomplishment. I may be having fun but I'm just a jerk running around with my jerk six shooter/chainsaw/laser gun killing other jerks.
I haven't felt like my video game self should be patted on the back for a job well done since I beat Mass Effect and before that, Diablo 2. I need a new game for that on my PC or 360. What say you, internet?

In all seriousness. You'd probably never play a better game. And Batman: Arkham City comes out soon. I suggest getting that. And if you haven't played Arkham Asylum, why the fuck not? But yeah, get them two.

I played PS:T briefly and enjoyed it.
I've done the same for both BG games (I stopped playing the second cause I hadn't played the first and the first because I was in the middle of too many games...though I have the first, somewhere) and Icewinddale (which I was disappointed in because it was freaking hard and had next to no storyline).
Crono Trigger I liked and will come back to eventually...after I beat FF 7, 8, 9 and 12. I'm in the middle of too many JRPGs....which I'm not motivated to play right now. I'm sure I'll get around to Human Revolution eventually but from what I understand, it's a prettier, shallower version of Deus Ex 1.
Skeptical of Neverwinter Nights 2 since the first game's storyline was generic and thrown together so that the campaign editor they created could be called a "game."
I think I'll look into El Shanddai and Space Marine as I have no knowledge of those games at this time.
And yeah, if Diablo 3 was out, I'd just get that, meadows and ponies be damned. I've long since decided to be a Demon Hunter. That said, it is common knowledge that Blizzard is too good for release dates so I never find myself waiting for their games. I just figure the internet will scream at me to let me know when it's out.

Strongly considering this. There was very little I disliked about the original. And Batman: Arkham City comes out soon. I suggest getting that. And if you haven't played Arkham Asylum, why the fuck not? But yeah, get them two. Beaten AA twice. AC is preordered because it is incredibly important that I am able to play as Robin.

Second one is better in every way. If you have the money, get the first expansion "Mask of the Betrayer". It was also lots of fun to play. On Baldur's gate 1&2 do finish them if you can, they are amazing.

There's always Fallout 3. I'm ethically against the idea of playing a FPS where the game aims for me. Would turning off VATS (right?) make the game too hard?

Now that's crap. I understand why I can't play say...Infamous without a PS3. It sucks but I understand that the point is to get me to buy a PS3. I have no idea how preventing people in certain countries from playing as Robin will help the game company. Maybe I'm just ignorant to the reason for it.

From your description, Dragon Age: Origins? Or have you already played that? Don't play the sequel.
You're right about Deus Ex: HR, but then again there are no games that exceeds it in terms of content.

It's not new, but it certainly never gets old. KOTOR.
Also, if you want something on an epic scale, there's Sins of a Solar Empire. But it's a RTS, which I don't think you're looking for. It's more like "control literally dozens of planets and lead a fleet of thousands of ships." Pretty fun.

Ended up buying PS: Torment. Penning cutters names in the dead book all day long.
Also gonna go back to replaying Dead Rising because it's fun with chainsaws.

It is.
Gonna sell Red Dead Redemption and Bioshock 2. I see no need to replay them.
