That a safe bet? these are nothing but small cosmetic changes. A slight variance on the emphasis of combat does not change the overall style of game play. Overall style in GoW consists of Kratos spinning his blades from a range and gutting his minor enemies for health. If anything, this game will be more like previous Cyberconnect2 titles in terms of Gameplay. I'm seeing Asura doing multiple take downs at once, blocking giant swords, tossing fat men etc against minor enemies, that looks like fun to me and interactive. God of war has him killing Zeus and using Aphrodite as essentially a sex slave and slaying cyclops left and right effortlessly. If that's not over the top ridiculous I don't know what is. I wouldn't say butchering Greek myth counts towards the over the top ridiculousness of game-play. I don't remember Aphrodite being a sex slave in the games, just being a whore. When I'm talking about over the top ridiculous, I'm thinking of the actual fights taking place in said games, Asura and his buddy up their are duking it out on the Moon, only to have an extendo sword launch him straight from the Moon to Earth, through atmospheric re-entry and bam big explosions. That's over the top in my book. my lack of interest from the game stems not from the lack of accurate portrayal of the myth. Oh well then, I thought that was the main reason since you seem big on that. Edit: I am big on that. But my lack of interest for this particular game is because it's obviously going to be another over-the-top God of War style game play with an overpowered protagonist with the personality of a telephone pole. This one looks more focused on close range melee / h2h rather then spinning circles of the Blades of Chaos, as the more damage Asura does = fills up his health bar and works towards getting his multiple arms out to pound enemies with. Much as Asura doesn't even seem to be the only playable character given the two bottom videos I posted in the OP. Who knows, he might have a little bit more personality than Kratos. I wouldn't call Kratos' fights over the top, ridiculous sure, based off classic Thor's fights sure, but he wasn't exactly pounding away at a multi-mountain ranged sized finger. I have more faith in Cyberconnect2 in delivering better characters and good game-play to boot. Seriously? Why does it matter? I was just curious. Wanted to see if I could take a guess at why he didn't find it interesting. |

Seriously? Why does it matter? because I enjoy myths and legends. Because 90% of the time, the source material is more interesting to me then the interpretations game designers make of it. I found God of War for example to be laughable at best. |

Asura's Wrath looks way more like God Hand than God of War.
and it is way more over the top than GoW.

Wow... I literally could not take my eyes off of that last video against the finger...lol. I only played the first GoW, but I think so far even with just the trailers and that vid, Asura is on pace to outdo anything I remember from Kratos.
Anyone have a credible link outside of Wiki where I could read up on the actual mythos behind Asura?

I watched the 14 min gameplay video...............
Wish I hadn't.....wow. This looks really shitty.
And talk about horribly repetitive and simple gameplay, I mean the only thing this person did was press a couple buttons when they were told. Lol. This is a game?

Judging by what you saw,it looks like it was just a bunch of cut-scenes/QTE....not surprisingly,since i have seen videos titled ``Asura Wrath gameplay`` that were just cut-scenes. Did said video include things like this?
