Marvel Comics first started to tease us with the return of Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider last month. It now seems they want fans to wonder a bit more, as they have now released a new teaser image. Could it be Ben Reilly? Could it be someone else as the Scarlet Spider? Check them both out below (top image is most recent, bottom image is from August). Recent teasers have also shown the Point One issue will also deal with Nova, Ultron, and the Defenders. What do you think Ledgers? Do you want Ben Reilly to return? If he did would you be happy with it?

Don't know who Reilly is, but having Yost on the creators title is definitely something I'd look into.

Don't care what they do as long as it's solid storytelling.

Somewhere in the world, Morph is dancing in celebration. Open your window, hear that noise? It's me.
But really, I'll have to learn more. I want Ben back, not someone else wearing a variation of his costume.

Honestly seems like it just cheapens his death

Can you elaborate? I read the clone saga when I was younger and barely remember half of it.

It looks like he's attacking a Daredevil impersonator. Is this the artist saying this is a Ben Reilly impersonator? That would be funny. It seems every year since the Gauntlet started, people have been so convinced that Ben's coming back. Utter the word "clone" in a Spidey book, and everyone jumps on board the notion, only to have it not have anything to do with what's actually going on in the story and people get upset.
This teaser, however, seems to be more directed to his actual return though, since it's all like "fan demanded" an' junk. I'll get it regardless because Spidey's my dawg, an' all, and anything having to do with his corner of New York is cool for me.

Can you elaborate? I read the clone saga when I was younger and barely remember half of it. The fans backlash from the revelation Ben was the original and Pete was the clone forced Marvel to hastily back-track and kill him off during Peter's climactic fight with the Green Goblin. Despite the fact that Ben was a perfect clone of Pete, once he perished, his body was instantly reduced to ash, ensuring that Peter was indeed the original. Marvel not only killed him off, along with all the potential for radically different stories that Spider-Man himself could never embark to, but did it in such a way that covered their asses for a mistake they generated to begin with, due to their dumb move to claim Pete was a clone and not the original Spider-Man.

By the way, Yost in a Spider book is always welcome, his FI Spider-Man tie-in was very well done.

You mean that "Ben" as we saw him dying during Revelations was an imperfect clone, and the real Ben Reilly was captured earlier, yes?
I'd be totally cool with that explanation.

Yeah. That's one I've always had in my mind ever since I found out that a perfect clone can't melt away.
Oh, and I know! Eddie's the fucking bomb! ;D

It's a great explanation, and by no means more far-fetched than most of the stuff involving resurrections of other heroes.
I liked how Eddie was winning despite the fact that he was weakened, and was doing it with his strength and speed alone, not the healing touch. He was too busy making speeches, though, lol.
