Contains Spoilers of Last AirbenderThe first series took place in a world in which supernatural “benders” have the ability to manipulate the elements of air, earth, fire and water, and focused on Aang, a young airbender who turned out to be the Avatar, a person capable of controlling all the elements. The new series takes place 70 years later in the same world and follows the new Avatar, a teen girl named Korra who has learned to bend earth, water and fire and seeks to master air under the tutelage of Aang’s son, Tenzin. Anyone else looking forward to this?

I hope Sokka has a son and it's like him. He's for me a big reason I'm watching it.

Doubtful. Legend of Korra takes place 75 years after the end of The Last Airbender. So if Sokka's son is in it, he'll be older than you'd want him to be.

Maybe he he got freaky when he was older? Child at the age of 75. Seen it happen before. Look Des O'Connor up on wiki and have a look at the age of his youngest child.

Yeah I know it happens but I think the major time gap between the two series would indicate that they don't want to have any sort of relationships coexisting with the characters. I think at best, a child of one of the characters or maybe even a character like Sokka, would just randomly show up, but not play a major role.

You just squashed my hope for a Sokka character. I think this would make a good RPG. Air, Water, Earth and Fire benders. Possibilities of characters joining forces to fight a empire or something.

That sounds cool. I wonder if they'll make 2 more Avatars. One with a Firebender, and the other series with an Earthbender.

It's possible. I'm in the middle of Book 2 now. Only a few more episodes to go. So no spoilers about the last book please. I think Toph's great grandchild could be a good possibility. The fire would be an easy one to think of.

Well, I'd be down for a new Avatar. Hopefully, Legend of Korra doesn't disappoint.

It's got a lot of pressure to produce the same feeling as The Last Airbender. If the character are not liked, then the show will be cancelled. If it's the same writing team, then I think it should work accordingly.

The co-creators for The Last Airbender (Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko) will be writing Legend of Korra. Apparently, it'll be 12 episodes in duration (considering it's a spin-off, it isn't a surprise) but with positive feedback, if warranted, I can see it garnering more episodes.

Yeah, I read that as well. I think they'll just do 12 episodes each season...maybe. Take out the fillers maybe?

Well the phrase here would be. "Don't judge a book by it's cover." For me I think DBZ was better than DB.

I want Korra to have an awkward moment with Aang's kid just for my own enjoyment.

How awkward? It depends how old this kid will be. I think he'll be in his 50s.

Sorry, I meant how would you have it awkward? In what condition? Technically the reincarnation isn't remotely related to Aang's kid, but she's still his daddy in spirit I would guess. So any kind of awkward would work for me, if it be a hug, kiss, daddy advice for son from a young woman, anything along those lines.
