The first episode was better than the film.
Animation is awesome. Hal, isn't a giant douche. Oa, looks beautiful. Good comedy elements.
I just hope this doesn't fall behind schedule because it looks like it takes a lot of work to do this. And a few of us seen what happened to, Young Justice.
Looking forward to this series. The antagonist of the episodes have a weakness for a certain colour. And this colour doesn't come to light until a certain two characters create them. And they don't look to be creating them any time soon. And they were created before the antagonists were shown. So, I think this maybe another series with changes.

Thoughts about the show, possible spoilers: - The animation is pretty high quality. Characters and objects feel like they have proper weight and the action is suitably dynamic. This was a nice surprise, especially since it's a tv show. - Hal Jordan actually feels like he's got a spec of personality. Again a nice surprise. It's still the same cowboy cop he always was, but now he's at least believable as a human being and there's you get the feeling that maybe that's not all he is. The fact that he's shown more smarts and kicked more butt than in the last 20 issues of GL comic helps too. Also, he looks kinda like Ryan Reynolds. - Oa looks very Tron-like like SM said, and it works very nicely. - I was pretty annoyed when they announced Red Lanterns as villains, but they seem to have tried distance themselves from the greater emotional spectrum story, which I'm happy about. There's no mention of willpower and rage energy anywhere in the show, and hopefully there wont be any. - On the down side, it does kinda rob the Red Lanterns of something, Now they're basically anti-green corps, instead of RIGHTEOUS RAGE EMBODIED!!! - Atrocitus' lip scar makes him look like a gangsta. And not in a good way. Also, while he is pretty menacing, he isn't quite is as compelling as in the comics. The fact that they've removed much of the rage power angle actually works against him, as now he looks like just another dude with a grudge. You don't feel his rage or pain as good as you do in the comics. Yes, I know this is just the pilot and there's plenty of time to flesh him out, but I write what I see, and I see a far less powerful character than in the comics. - Hey, Ganthet is still the only Guardian with a brain. Some things never change. At least here they look to be just obstructively bureaucratic rather than maliciously retarded. The Guardians knocking on Hal's window flying next to his ship was pretty funny though. - I called the stuck away from home scenario from the moment they said how far the place was. And I called how it would happen from the moment they introduced the superfast ship. But to their credit it wasn't really jarringly cliched. - Killowog is awesome as always. - Shyir Rev, dude, my heart bleeds for you. You were the finest lantern I saw in years! - The Razer kid was interesting, and his was with himself was nicely done. I'm pretty sure he'll become a GL eventually. - I liked the ship. - No Sinestro. - The season will end with Carol Ferris punching Hal for missing their date. Calling it now. So so far, so good.

Yeah, I also found it rather odd Sinestro didn't appear. Oh well, I guess that gives us something to look forward to

It's even worse because you know that if Sinestro had shown up we'd be able to get Morph to watch this no problem.

They said we'll see Saint Walker and possible the other Earth Lanterns this season. I wonder if they way Hope power comes about will also be the same with them being created by Ganthet and the girl.

Gained some info that you might not want, Morph to know.
"That stuff gets weaved in. Sinestro is a little bit of a tricky thing because we were asked not to use him very much at the time we were developing the show, because at that time his destiny wasn't completely decided in how they wanted to play him in the future. Now that I've seen it, and the final scene is pretty obvious what's going to happen to with him — that may give us some license in the future to get him."
