Long story short,save files with over 60 hours of gameplay`s frame rate is too terrible to properly play the game.

Anyway,the fact a game with such a game-breaking bug got 9s and 10s from everywhere (PS3 version included) with absolutely no mention to this bug makes it clear just how unreliable (and ,in a way, corrupted) today`s reviewers are.

I didn't like Fallout 3, and Oblivion had plenty of issues.

Skirim fixes most of the issues of both, although it still has glitches up the wazzoo(nothing gamebreaking on my version yet).

Getting it cheap is probably your best bet.

No offense, but playing Skyrim on PS3 or Xbox should be punishable by death and worse. Best thing about TES was always the mods. Same with Kotor and Dragon Age.

Skyrim is great, but already there are mods that make playing it a bunch more enjoyable.

Hey, not all of us have fancy Computers that can handle this game.

Well, you just aren't going to enjoy it the same way. Consoles can't put out the kind of performance you need to enjoy max settings graphics on new gen games like Skyrim, Diablo 3, BF3, etc properly. My computer is over a year old and it wasn't expensive even when I bought it so I don't see the difference between a decent computer and a console except where one is obviously better than the other. If all games came out on PC I wouldn't own a console at all.

I'm a console kid through and through, except when it comes to RTSs.

I just like the feeling of a controller in my hand when I play.

Also my laptop has a trackpad, and no mouse so I'm fucked when it comes to most games.

Playing games on laptops is never great.

I don't mind if you like consoles. I've had a lot of fun playing console games and for some games it makes sense. But it isn't better at anything. You can connect a controller to a PC. But it's an inferior peripheral. It's just not as precise as a mouse, keyboard or arcade stick set up. People who play FPS, RTS or western RPG titles on consoles make me want to puke.

Well I tend to use Consoles for fighting games, platformers, and other junk.

I'll admit I've played some Western RPGs and plenty of FPSs, because I'm cool with making you sick.

My friend’s 74-year-old grandfather wrote this email to a long-time friend after playing Skyrim. When I told him the internet might be interested in reading about his experience, he gave me consent to post it here. Of course, I’ve edited out any non-Skyrim related discussion to protect his privacy.


My grandson gave me a video game for Christmas. I know, I know. At first glance, it seems like an odd thing for a kid to give to his grandpa, doesn’t it?

I’ve been trying to spend more time with him but I have no idea what’s hip these days. I’ve just been watching over his shoulder while he plays his computer games. He seems to appreciate my interest and thinks my questions are funny.

I am amazed at what people can do on their computers. There’s this sci-fi one that boggles my mind. You look down at the battlefield like you’re God and tell your troops where to go and who to fight. Some of the creatures look like giant mammoths. Others look like oozing flying shrimps.

The game he gave me is called “Skyrim”. I am absolutely astounded by how beautiful the world looks. Just walking around fills my heart with a sense of peace. I’m not even sure I care what the purpose of the game is. I’m just having fun wandering through the woods looking at everything.

At one point, I gave up trying to figure out what I’m suppose to do and found myself chasing after butterflies until I accidentally caught one. I’m sad to report my character now has a set of very beautiful but delicate butterfly wings tucked into his pocket. What I’m suppose to do with butterfly wings is beyond me but I am reluctant to “drop” it. Littering in this unspoiled wilderness seems profane so I’ll keep them for now. Maybe I’ll use them as a momento to remind me that even in a video game, my actions have consequences for others.

Speaking of my character, I spent a good hour creating mine. “Erick” is a dapper young man with a mischievous glint in his eye. I won’t lie by pretending he isn’t a younger version of myself. Ha! My grandson tells me my character can be whoever I want him to be. It’s uncanny how precise this video game can get when it comes to facial features.

The very beginning of the game was exciting indeed! I was very nearly beheaded until fate intervened but a fellow rebel friend wasn’t so lucky. I noticed one of the guards seemed genuinely distressed I’d been mixed up in their politics but military chain of command left him little choice. I guess even in a video game, you can’t get away from bureaucracy it seems. Thankfully, he saw fit to help me out during an honest-to-goodness dragon attack, and we managed to escape. He even invited me into his home for a meal and offered me supplies afterwards. Good man.

I’m still unsure of how to fight effectively in the game but clicking repeatedly on the mouse seems to work. I’ve decided “Erick” should fight with two swords instead of one because it suits his style.

That’s as far as I’ve gotten. “Erick” plans to continue his adventures after he’s had a chance to recover from a fight with some dirty brigands.

Most people say it's fake. But I believe the reason for them to say that is because they can't fathom a man of this age playing something that they play.
