Tell me what you thought of his run! Favorite characters?
The Beak/Angel Salvadore stuff was great. Cassandra Nova is a BA villain too.

It's the best X-Men run ever. Deep, witty, tragic, shocking, character driven and completely awe-inspiring.
Fantomex Sublime Weapon Plus Xorn Cassandra Nova U-Men Kick Quentin Quire
Grant Morrison is simply beyond brilliance, and this run is Morrison gone wild with the X-Men. Fantastic stuff.

I would have preferred it if Xorn made a reappearance in the future, but, based on the ensuing mess after Planet X, that Claremont, and Bendis only made worse with Excalibur, and New Avengers: the Collective, respectively, as well as Marvel's general discomfort with almost anything originating from Morrison's run (only recently are plots such as Sublime, and characters like Fantomex revisited) I doubt it will ever happen.

Truthfully, I'm kinda glad a lot of it has remained untouched. Bendis and Claremont aren't half the writers Morrison is, and Marvel's handling of Magneto since Planet X has just been terrible. Magneto as Xorn was brilliant, but alas, the status quo is King. I'm happy that Morrison's ideas still remain Morrison's though. Look what happened to Jenkins' Sentry when Bendis took an interest

Look what happened to Jenkins' Sentry when Bendis took an interest From a practical standpoint, the fact that Planet X even got published is a miracle. Magneto is one of the greatest antagonists in the MU, and surely one of the most iconic characters. Morrison used him in metacommentary fashion to illustrate all that is rotten about the stale and stagnant way that both X-Men, and the comics Universe work. I was sad that it turned out to be Magneto, because Xorn was a great character in his own right (that, and several things don't add up for Xorn=Magneto, even though a case can be done for both, it's nowhere near as flawless as the regular Morrison subplots), and the only way that story would have been left untouched would be for the entire X-Men comics line to end there. Literally.
As it is, I enjoy the development in Magneto's character. Both Fraction (who seems to be a fan of Morrison's work, bringing back Fantomex, and mentioning a somewhat taboo issue, with Sublime), and Mike Carey have done a good work to sell Magneto as a good guy (who still has some agenta of his own), and for the time being, it works. He doesn't seem to be ready to double-cross the X-Men, and it is somewhat refreshing in comparison to the usual Magneto vs X-Men stuff we were spoon-fed during the 90s.

Too often villains get glorified in comic books, and Magneto (as good a character as he is) was one such villain. People forgot that he was a warmongering psychopath, and Morrison shoved it right in their faces again and said; "remember now!?"

I don't disagree, in fact people complain when they don't recall Morrison himself bailed Marvel out and gave them the opportunity to bring Magneto, or Xorn back, by mentioning Magneto/Xorn was being controlled by Sublime at the time, so he wasn't himself.
But no, let's retcon everything in a way that makes no sense. I mean, Claremont actually took an inside joke on Morrison's behalf, and made it a plot point. Morrison had Magneto/Xorn says "Maybe that's my power, Charles? To always come back" a way of saying "guys, you've had Magneto come back from the dead a gazillion times already", and Claremont actually had Xavier tell Magneto that "The impostor told me his power is to come back from the dead", in a serious manner.

....That's just sad. I always looked at Xorn/Sublime/Kick as being Magneto unchained. Erik being a pure mutant, in the respect that he has no humanity left. Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree, though. Have you heard the theory that Sublime is actually the Marvel Editors? He's an evolutionary dead end that wants to remain in control and prevent change...

Xorn was, in my opinion, everything that is good in Magneto. His "inner star".
