Writers: Mark Waid & Greg Rucka
Artist: Marco Checchetto
The Story:
Daredevil has come into possession of the Omega Drive. A device created by Reed Richards that has a pelthora of information on many of the Marvel Universe's criminal organizations. Hydra, AIM, the Secret Empire, the American government and well you get the picture. Obviously this also puts him in the crosshairs of these groups but DD is using it as leverage to protect his close friends. According to Spider-Man he has the worst kept secret identity in the superhuman community.
Spidey makes a deal with Reed to try to get it back and finds himself under siege by a group of Hand ninjas. He manages to fight them off as the Punisher enters the fray. He and his new partner, Rachel Alves want the drive for themselves to enact some righteous vengeance of their own on the various crime groups. The two go so far as to confront Daredevil in his office in an attempt to obtain it.
After a round of bickering by the 3 parties they make a deal. They will combine their forces and launch an all out assault on the criminal groups themselves. Punisher and Rachel reluctantly agree not to kill anyone but tell Matt Peter they'll need more prep time due to that unique condition. Our story continues in the pages of Punisher and Daredevil this month...
Overall:
This one has some good laughs and I always enjoy the team ups between Peter and Matt. Rucka & Waid do a great job with their chemistry here. Throwing in Punisher and his new partner adds an explosive element to this arc.
The Score:
8/10
This is shaping up to be fun. I'm really interested to see if the Punisher and his partner can be trusted with the laws Spidey & DD want them to play by. The art is rock solid and complements the story very well.
