Written by Scott SnyderThe Story:The Night of the Owls has begun. If you haven't been following this series in the new DC 52 it's been pretty solid. Batman spent the first 7 issues dealing with a mysterious group called the Court of Owls. Batman uncovered their lair, some of their secrets and barely escaped with his life. As he recovers in Wayne Manor, the mansion comes under attack by a large group of Talons, the Court's agents. These agents are reanimated from Gotham's dead using technology. Their coordinated attack nearly catches Bruce and Alfred off guard and they're forced to retreat to the Batcave to regroup. Bruce & Alfred soon realize the Court is not only after Bruce Wayne but many of Gotham's leaders and public figures. The Good:First and foremost, I love Capullo's art. it's dark, edgy and perfect for a Batman book. He does a great job with all of the dark and shadowy areas of Wayne Manor. The story itself has a few minor character flaws with Bruce in my opinion but that's a minor complaint. Snyder definitely does a good job of capturing Bruce's desperation in this issue. He resorts to some new tricks and also places a call to his allies in Gotham for assistance. Overall:8/10 This is the first big Bat-crossover of the new 52 and it's off to a good start. I definitely plan on following it through the pages of Batman and also some of the Bat family titles.

It would make more sense if Wayne just called in Superman to vaporize all the deadies.

It would make more sense if Wayne just called in Superman to vaporize all the deadies. Batman doesn't need help from the big blue boy scout. He's awesome enough to handle things by himself or with his homeys.
