How do you users feel about the occasional character switching from male to female or the other way around? (Loki)
How about new characters of the opposite gender taking up a character name? (Hawkeye)
Or even clones that somehow have opposite genders? (X-23, Miss Sinister)
Name some favorites and/or some of your most hated examples and explain.

(Hawkeye) Or even clones that somehow have opposite genders? (X-23, Miss Sinister) Name some favorites and/or some of your most hated examples and explain. It really depends on the treatment. Thing is Loki did often take female forms in the mythology to trick people. It makes perfect sense thus. Like when the gods hired a frost giant to build the walls of Asgard. They promised the hand of Freya to the giant is he could complete the task in the designated length of time. Problem is, he was actually making good on his promise because he had a magical stallion that could transport all the material faster. The gods, being jackasses (because, yes the Aesir are jackass jocks in the mythology) sent Loki to prevent the giant from succeeding. He did so by transforming into a mare and distracting the stallion. The giant never completed the task in time. So he had to do it all for free. And Loki, he got boned by the stallion and that's where Odin got sleipnir, his eight legged horse, so yeah ;D In general, I don't have a problem with gender switching amongst legacy characters. If a hero has a heir/daughter, etc. To take up his mantle, there's nothing from with taking the name. It makes sense, they are honoring the legacy As to clones, I tend to dislike them because they suck as characters (like X-23)

Well I suppose I set up with X-23 so I should just accept it.
I do not think X-23 sucks though. Miss Sinister seems inferior to Sinister in every way though, including quality of the character.

Meh, I don't care to be honest unless the gender swap character is not as good as the original (such as the case with Lady Octopus)

I do not think X-23 sucks though. That's cool, I'm very biased anyway. I have a general dislike of the X-Men as you know. The glaringly obvious, to me, things wrong about them makes me hate just about every character in their line. @han Solo: didn't Lady Octopus die or something?

I am surprised someone remembers Lady Octopus. I think she made an appearance recently though.
The only gender switched sequel character that I have liked better than the original is Kate Bishop. I think she is pretty cool.

Lady Octopus is still alive, she's just Doc Ock's assistant now IIRC.

X-23 and Ultimate Spider-Woman are my favorites.
Miss Sinister and Lady Bullseye seem like a waste to me though... And they look stupid.

Lady Octopus hasn't appeared as of late at all to my knowledge Unless she featured in the current Web of Spider-Man, she certainly hasn't been in Amazing since Clinton was still president.

It was someone that did not even know who she was. She was robbing a bank or something and she got beat up by some heroes who had to even ask her name. I wish I could remember where I saw this.

I don't really mind. I love X-23, and there are plenty of male/female changes I've liked, that said there are certainly others that just sucked. It's basically a case by case basis.

Quite possible. I was just pointing out she hasn't appeared in a Spider-Man title in over a decade.
