Writer: Jeff Lemire Artist: Mikel Janin Disclaimer: I've never read a single comic with John Constantine before this one. The Story:John Constantine is recruited by Steve Trevor to travel to the Amazon to take on Felix Faust. He's joined by Zatanna, Deadman, Black Orchid and Andrew Bennett. They discover Faust amassing an army with plans to of course conquer the world. They discover a map that leads to several objects of great power in the DC universe. The Good:This isn't your typical superhero comic. The team is a unique gathering of individuals with a variety of abilities but they're all heavily involved in the magical side of the DCU. There's some pretty good dialogue from Lemire between the characters and it doesn't come off as forced or contrived. The Bad:I'm not familiar with all of these characters so they could be written out of character. I'm sure some of our more experienced Ledgers can chime in. Overall:This seems like the makings of a very good book. The cast is unique and it's definitely a refreshing break from most comics these days. The art from Janin is very well done. Overall:4/5

Seeing Constantine in the same comic as a lameass like Steve Trevor makes the gods shake their heads.

Seeing Constantine in the same comic as a lameass like Steve Trevor makes the gods shake their heads. I shook my head at the notion of having to go back and read 25 volumes of Constantine. It's DCnU Constantine for me!
