This isn't another thread comparing Marvel to DC. I'm a fan of both companies and Heaven knows we've all been down that old, dusty road enough times.
This thread is simple. Take a character from Marvel or DC that you'd like to see in a more mature comic setting ala Marvel's Max series or DC's Vertigo imprint. It can be any character from the two big companies that you think would benefit from a grittier, darker style story. Use someone that hasn't been done already. Give us your reasons and what you would expect from the story, especially the creative teams and general story direction.
Ledgers, GO!

I'd like to see a MAX Ghost Rider series drawn by Alex Maleev. I'd definitely pick that up. I also think a MAX X-Force series would have a lot of potential.

I'd like a Vertigo Batman series in the mold of that Flashpoint Bat book.

The Joker would make an awesome Vertigo book. A Joker on-going would be like having chocolate cake for every meal, awesome for a while but eventually it just gets to much.

Only if they take the blandest route possible and just showed him killing people or fighting Batman or being crazy. Azarello's Joker was well done and it didn't even include the Bat nor did he kill anyone nor was he crazy. How he manipulates the Underworld of Gotham, how he devises his traps, how his super sanity works, or his obvious chemical dependence on Joker Venom would all make very interesting issues.
