Writers: Steve Darnall & Alex Ross Art: Johnathan Lau Peter Cannon, aka Thunderbolt is a former Charlton character and also has had a few appearances in the DC Universe. He had his own 12 issue limited during the 90s under the DC banner. The Story: Peter Cannon is a philanthropist, author and archaeologist. He is also highly educated in the Eastern way of thought. He really has no desire to be a super hero but decides it's time for him to make his own mark on the world. When a dragon erupts from a Chinese nuclear test, the creature is engaged by Cannon at the United Nations building. After driving off the beast, Cannon reveals his identity to the world. We also see the ground work set for future enemies of Cannon in a couple of different forms. The Art: The art is bright and exactly what you'd want in a super hero comic. The inks are very clean and overall very fitting for this book. Overall: 3/5 This book is mostly setup but you really get a good handle of the character right off the bat. There isn't a lot of action here but the seeds are definitely planted for what should be a very interesting read.
