Talk about the Kick-Ass series right here!

I was thinking about reading this after watching the movie.

I read it. I honestly preferred the movie. The comic just has a much less happy ending for Kick-Ass and the movie has a much cooler ending for Hit-Girl.
But the 'super powers' Big Daddy gives her are much more funny in the comic than the movie. Well, funny is a very twisted way.

I felt the exact same way.

I actually like the comic series better. The movie was just a little too... cliche. The 'doesn't get the girl at the end' concept is somewhat more original and appealing to me.

To me, original is not always good or quality. There were only two things I did not really care for in the movie. The jet pack and the 'super powers'.

Honestly, I was extremely against the movie when I heard about it's production, and even more-so before it's premiere. I was a big fan of the first volume and was pissed at the thought they were pretty much whoring out the series. Much to my delight, the movie was surprisingly enjoyable and a hell of a fun ride.
Has issue #2 of the second volume come out yet?

Deviance from an overused cliche is usually a good thing, IMO.

The jet pack was stupid, but I think it was intended to be over-the-top and hilarious...I won't deny that I thought it was hysterical.

I liked the Jet-Back too. It was so out there, it was cool. I thought for sure it woulda been a flame thrower, and my mind was so set on that, when I found out that it was that, I'm like "that's awesome."
