Welcome to Dane's Video Game Reviews. For my first review I'll be covering this week's newly released Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2. Let me know how you feel about my review, the game or anything related you'd like to talk about. Let's get started.
Trailer:
The Good: Following the many criticisms of the first game it would have to be said that the overall gameplay mechanics are much improved. All of the attacks and force powers are smooth and intuitive. The enemies have fairly good variety and none of the levels feel boring or repetitious. In many ways it's great in all the ways the first one sucked. What you do have of the storyline is great, but that leads me into what is wrong with the game.
The Bad: It's too short. Let me underline that for you, there is only roughly 3-4 levels in the entire game. And there's no multiplayer. The entire gaming experience is roughly 4-6 hours. I would not, under any conditions recommend anyone buy this game. Rent it if you want but don't drop $60 on this thing. The story barely gets underway before the credits start rolling and it ends on a cliff hanger. It really feels like they made half of the game then got bored and decided to release it. It really destroys what may have otherwise been a game of the year contender. If it wasn't for the obvious combat improvements this would feel more like an expansion pack than a feature title.
Rating: 2.5/5

I hate it when a good game falls short due to its duration, but I agree the overall enjoyment of the experience should decrease considerably, as a result. I'll probably give it a shot when the time comes but I won't buy it. I doubt I would have anyways, but this is good to know before hand.

Nice review, Dane. Unlike Decoy, I actually really enjoyed the demo. It's a shame to see the game is so short and offers no real incentive for multiple playthroughs.

It's funny... My first playthrough of the demo was on hard and I felt unstoppable. I wanted to complain about this, but then realized if I DIDN'T feel that way, I'd be complaining about the fact I'm a goddamn Sith and getting pwned by Stormtroopers. I suppose there's no real middle ground. If you're a force user, better to feel overpowered than underpowered, I suppose.

Has anyone played Force Unleashed (either one) on PC? I'm not sure whether to get it or not. The game has gotten awesome reviews, but people always say games aren't as good when you're playing them on a PC.
