which is your favourite game in the series?

Favorite game of the series: RE Remake or RE2. What I liked was the Horror appeal to it (not scary but intriguing) and the overall atmosphere. What I don't like is how it felt more like an Action series later on like RE4/RE5. Fond memories: From RE2, first round with Licker and the Alligator boss. From RE Remake, the Crimson head in the coffin. Nearly every experience from RE2 really. RE3, Nemesis scenes. From the first RE, the first Tyrant battle I played. RE Zero, the mutant apes and bat boss pop out for me. From RE Outbreak, I'd say the leechman in the vents and the mutant animals (elephant). RE4, hmm...Dr. Salvador chase scene I'd say though I'm glad I rented this one as opposed to buying it. RE5, Wesker, just Wesker. Everything else was mediocre in comparison imo. @roy Agreed on many points. RE2 was the best experience overall imo. RE4 had some really good points but it didn't have that survival element to it. Ammo was just too easy to come by and the quick-time events really detracted from an otherwise fantastic game.
Resident Evil 5, let's face it. It was a piece of shit. Wesker was amazing and his voice actor and dialog were both perfect. Chris as a character was 2D at best and Sheva was really a cop-out. It had an incredibly avoidable racial tone and I didn't like that at all. The inventory system was the worst I have ever seen. How they made it worse than every other game after being in the business of making these games for over a decade I'll never know.

Resident Evil 2 was pretty awesome... I aint too big on Resident Evil 5 though... the Graphics were off the hook... but I did not like the game a whole lot

I LOVED Resident Evil 2 (for the n64) when I was younger, but overall I enjoyed Resident Evil 4 the most. It simply brought the franchise to a new level by giving it a far superior combat system/control scheme, and still did an excellent job with the horror/survival vibe. It's a shame RE5 focused more on the shooting aspect, and less on the horror element...Which in the end, is really the key part of the Resident Evil franchise.
Also, I'm a sucker for Merc mode. I can play it for ages, always trying to one-up my previous high score.
