Alight, I'm legitimately going to review something for once so please give me a break if you think the review is bad.
Fable 3 is a lot like past Fable games with a similar premise. You're the hero of Albion and you need to do some quests and kill some monsters because that's how you roll. This game, like the last Fable game, has added some new features but overall it's very very similar to it's predecessors. Combat overall is the same, except you no longer need to level up to unlock the aim, roll, and flourishes and you no longer have a health bar(similar to the CoD series). Although you do need to level up in order to unlock new magic and such, which is kind of annoying as now you have to level up by doing certain story quests rather than gain exp. Yeah, killing things no long really helps leveling up, so if you want your magic and such you'll need to complete quests. To make up for this new system(which feels like a burden for someone who wants to be a mage) Fable 3 adds the new (unlockable) ability to combine spells. It's pretty fun and some combos are pretty kick ass and if you like experimenting a bit it should keep you entertained.
Right, after Fable 2's awful story, the creators of Fable vowed to make a better story for the next game.....and they did make a better story, although not by much. The story is well and good, your king brother is a tyrant asshole so you set out to replace him things get a bit interesting as you get to decide what to do as king. This part of the game is the most interesting as your decisions have a real effect on the world, but sadly it's a short lived part that's feels bogged down by the story. Not to mention after the story is over you never get to do so again, which really saddened me. It does add some replay value as you can play over again and see how some decisions effect the world. Anyway, as far as the story goes, the ending is anti-climatic as usual and the final boss is a joke so don't expect something epic from Fable 3.
The Quests have a good amount of variety, and some of the "joke" quests are quite fun and have a nice amount of humor. Although the more average quests, can get pretty boring, such as the escort quests which I avoid like the plague. You can also gain new quests by becoming friends with people, which is nice, but it seems that all the quests are message delivery quests so they can get quite boring as well. Besides that the only thing new Fable 3 offers is the ability to upgrade weapons. Basically you can buy/find new weapons which can be upgraded by doing certain tasks. Sadly the only reward is strengthening your weapons and sometimes getting new abilities for said weapons.
Overall, Fable 3 is a nice addition to the series which builds off what fans enjoyed about the last game. The multiplayer is improved a bit, but not by much. Anyway, if you're a fan of Fable 1 and 2, then you should definitely pick this tittle up. If you're not a fan, then you should avoid this one. Overall it gets a 3.5 out of 5 in my book, mostly because I enjoyed the last games.
