I just started re-reading the Deathly Hallows (I always like to reread the book before seeing the movie). I had forgotten just how good JK Rowling is. HP rocks socks

I have only read books 1 and 4 so far. They were good. And so many things that weren't shown in the movies.

I hate Harry Potter with a passion that is only lesser to my hate for Twillight Dude, come on, you can't say something like that in a Harry Potter respect thread and not give reasons...

Well, there are many reasons First, It's because I know a lot about mythology. And I'm not talking about comic book mythology either. I mean real world mythology I have course on those. So I can't enjoy seeing the treatment of certain mythological creatures as well as the magic in general.
Then my problem is the sheer stupidity of the characters combined with how uninteresting I found them. Finally, the pacing, the writing and the story in general got on my nerves.
I just couldn't find anything interesting about the setting, magic and mystery in the Harry Potter book. It was just... no interesting.

I found it more boring than anything, just better books out there for me to read to be honest.

My favorite type is good urban fantasy. But I read a lot of epic fantasy too.

I have not read the books yet but I intend to. Everyone will have their own interpretation of mythology. Twilight is an example. Nowhere near what vampires are normally thought of for the most part.
Yes, I did read Twilight. There were some interesting takes on things and we must remember, it IS a teen fiction so of course the series is riddled with sappy things.

Massive love for HP.
For anyone who hasn't already, listen to the audio books as read by Stephen Fry. He just makes them that much better.

@spidey_15 Stephen Fry is absolutely amazing. I often listen to the audiobooks through iTunes while studying or researching. Even while browsing forums or doing day to day things. Since I'm at IT Student I'm always at my computer so it means I can get a HP reading experience without sacrificing hours at a time out of my day. Multitasking ftw.

Those books basically tell young girls so base their entire lives around guys. Bella was never given any kind of character at all away from Sparklepants and No-Shirt-Man.

I'm going to read the books eventually....I love the movies though.
After I use this Bellatrix combination for a while, I'm moving to Luna Lovegood.
