Apparently there was a 2nd Earth 2 book in the works and DC didn't offer it to him.

From what I read on comicbloc I don't know if that is the reason.
Robinson was the one actually talking about the second book. His first couple of ideas for E2 were hit on the head by editorial ( setting the series up in either the 40's or the 60's) and the belief seems to be more about editorial oversight. Like he's p'd that yet another idea he had or road he wanted to take has been shut down before he could even try it.
