This thread , as the title suggests , is dedicated to one of the most powerful entities in the Marvel Universe , and one of the first cosmic deity type characters introduced in comics : Galactus , the World-Eater . Please do not spam , troll or derail this thread , or you will be reported .

Also , as of now , this thread is incomplete . Please refrain from posting any scans of your own in it .
ORIGINS

This is the first hand account from the big man himself , regarding his origin . All other accounts that have been related afterwards(by Thor , Odin , Johnny Storm etc) are merely retellings of this origin story .

FIGHTS

Despite being one of the most powerful entities in the universe, Galactus is not above getting into confrontations with other similar nigh-omnipotent beings . Here are all the significant fights that he's had over the majority his career :

I. Phoenix [/size]
Here , Galactus was about to feed upon a planet , when he got interrupted by Rachel Summers(who was both hosting and being possessed by the Phoenix Force at that time) , who then proceeds to engage the unfed Galactus in prolonged combat . Galactus ulitmately loses the battle as a result of his depleting energy reserves , but wins the war by forcing the Phoenix to retreat by reminding her of the harsh reality of the source of her power(the countless life-forces of unborn beings) , and how she is ultimately the greater evil out of the 2 of them :

II. Tyrant[/size]
Galactus and Tyrant had 2 fights . In the first , both were apparently at full power , and Thanos speculated that their war destroyed galaxies . Galactus was the victor of their first bout . In their second fight , Galactus fed on a biosphere-rich planet(much to Tyrant's chagrin) in order to prep for his upcoming fight with his creation . Tyrant however was able to absorb his maker's biosphere-charged energy attacks , and due to his superior technopathy , was able to turn the tables when Galactus attempted to use his ship to subdue him .

III. Odin[/size]
During Matt Fraction's Galactus Seed arc , Galactus came into conflict with Asgard over the Yggdrasil's Worldseed . During the war between the 2 groups , Galactus and Odin engaged each other in a telepathic battle in which Galactus clearly appeared to be dominating Odin . Despite a cheapshot by Thor , Galactus almost instantly recovered and returned to the tp battle , forcing Odin to go all out in the now infamous headbutt scene . Both fell to Earth , however Odin fell into the Odinsleep and later on admitted inferiority to Galactus in front of Thor no less :

IV. Mephisto [/size]
Galactus boldly enters Mephisto's realm to reclaim Nova . Mephisto is furiously belligerant and decides to engage Galactus in a universe-threatening war instead . Their battle ravages planets , stars and galaxies . Both the combatants are locked in a perfect stalemate , until the Surfer suggests to Galactus to start consuming Hades in order to force Mephisto to relent . Galactus gets what he came for , along with the Surfer as well , and Mephisto grudgingly observes their departure .

V. Hyperstorm [/size]
A hungry Galactus returns from his self-exile , and upon doing so is immediately confronted by Hyperstorm . Hyperstorm boasts that not even Galactus can defeat him , but Galactus rebuts him by saying that he doesn't seek meaningless conflict . Galactus uses Hyperstorm's connection to the unlimited reservoir of energy in hyperspace as a way of perpetually sustaining himself , thereby locking them together for all eternity .

VI. Scier and the Other[/size]
Upon realizing he's been tricked by Scrier , Galactus proceeds to confront both the Scrier and the latter's sinister , extradimensional nemesis . Even before the battle began , Oblivion who'd been remotely observing the ensuing events , revealed that a clash between Scrier and the Other alone would mean the end of all universes , and that Chaos War would seem like a prologue in comparison . With Galactus added to the picture , the end of the multiverse seems inevitable until the 3 heralds(Thor , Surfer and Rachel) combine their energies and channel it through Mjolnir to produce one amped Godblast that snaps the 3 Abstract entities out of their momentary madness .

VII. Agamotto[/size]
During his travels with Dr Strange on their mission to find out who put Eternity in a coma , Strange gets transported into Agamotto's realm by the Eye of Agamotto . Galactus naturally follows . Agamotto is less than pleased to see this new arrival , but Galactus is dismissive of him , and arrogantly expresses his superiority by attempting to disintegrate Agamotto like some menial arthropod . Agamotto , incensed by this treatment , engages Galactus in a huge dimension threatening battle . Because they're within his realm , Agamotto has the edge but still only manages a stalemate against Galactus before they're interrupted by the Vishanti .

VIII. Mad Celestials[/size]
This imo , is probably his most impressive fight in the last decade or 2 , despite not being loaded with flashy narrative descriptions of cosmic scale collateral damage . In anticipation of the arrival of the Mad Celestials , Galactus preps by feeding on 4 planets . Upon their arrival , the Mad Gods are now confronted by a powerful and confident Galactus . He reveals to them that he is aware of their purpose(the elimination of the last Reed Richards) , and that he will stand in their way . The Celestials warn him to leave or face the consequences but he refuses and proceeds to single-handedly attack the 4 Celestials head-on , and manages to even isolate and defeat one before the others use their incapacitate comrade's body as a conduit to merge into a Voltron type entity and one-shot the suprprised Galactus with a powerful blast that severely damages him . In the next issue , Franklin Richards arrives and defeats one of the Celestials before reviving Galactus as his herald with the power of his younger self . With the odds evened out , Galactus proceeds to physically rip apart one of the Mad Celestials and then blow a hole into another(before being rocked momentarily halted by the blast of the last Celestial) . Franklin flies into the gaping hole and defeats the final Celestial , and the 2 stand truimphant in front of the awestruck Fantastic Four and Future FOundation .

I still have a few more comics I'd like to add scans from , but there are some real-life issues that are acting as constraints on my attempts to truly finish this thread , but I think it's comprehensive enough in its current format to be added to the Respect Thread Lists .
