Haven't done a review here lately so here goes nothing... Writer: John Layman Artist: Jason Fabok The Story:Detective Comics #22 marks the new 52 debut of two new additions to Batman's rogues gallery in the form of Wrath & Scorn. The GCPD is being targeted by these cop killers and its up to the Dark Knight to bring them to justice. The Good:First and foremost, the art in this issue is outstanding. Jason Fabok does a fantastic job with the characters and also the city of Gotham itself. The art is crisp and each of the characters has their own distinctive appearance. The story is a simple one but I really enjoy it also being seen from the eyes of the Gotham City Police Department. Usually, we only get the sides from the antagonist and protagonist but the viewpoint of the victims in the story add quite a bit to its overall quality. Delving into the minds of the police department members involved adds a sense of the dangers and their general mindset with cop killers on the loose. The identity of the Wrath has me interested also. There's an obvious choice for his identity presented but the background of said character is pretty intriguing. if it's the obvious choice then his similarities to Bruce Wayne and how he became the man he is bears a story well worth telling. The Bad:No major complaints from this issue. Thoughts:I haven't read a lot of Layman's work on Detective but this issue and the one previous are turning me into a big fan of the writer and the series.
