What's your favorite Wolverine story? Better yet, what's your favorite version of Wolverine? (ultimate, AoA, 616, death, etc)

My personal favourite Wolverine story is the entire Enemy of the State/Agent of SHIELD back-to-back arcs. Lots of fun-good villain, good action, plenty of badass moments.
But my personal favourite small-time Logan story is either Law of the Jungle, or this one (the name escapes me) where a waitress he gets emotionally attached to is killed and he goes on a mad hunting spree. It's a lot better than it sounds.
Then again, I'm only starting to read Wolverine's original series now (oh yeah: Frank Miller's mini is a strong contender too!), so I'm sure there will be more candidates in the future.

I have a few favorite versions. I love classic Wolverine, the modern samurai. I also liked Enemy of the State because that was Marvel's real first attempt to make Wolverine scary again.

Claremont and Miller's mini, and Barry Windsor-Smith's Weapon X.

Oh yes. I agree with Morpheus. Those are solid gold.

I enjoyed "Old Man Logan" a hell of a lot more than I thought I would.

Sigh.... There are so many versions to like.
Old Man Logan had such a unique spin on our favorite killer.

I actually kind of....really hated OML. I really liked it until the last issue when all the emotionall connections they had made sort of collapsed. I realize that most folks were like "Fuck yeah!" when Logan popped his claws but for me it sort of just made the story another Wolverine ending.
That being said I loved the last couple of panels. Gave me a real Lone Wolf and Cub Vibe.

Great choices so far. I'll add Blood Debt.

Yukio isn't dead. Check the back-up feature to Wolverine # 2. Back-up feature? There's a second story after the core one. In the first issue it was about the Silver Samurai, in the second it was about Amiko.

Crap! I almost had a moment when Cry said Yukio was killed. Thank goodness that turned out to not be true.

"Old Man Logan" is really the only Wolverine story I've really read. Never followed the dude in his own series, and the only exposure I get of him is from the various X-men books he's in. It's not that the dude doesn't interest me. It's just that I've never been interested in reading up on him.
