Indeed. I'm pretty sure that it's going to be even better and better. =]

"An alien spore is replicating out of control...." "Fire and sonics. They're found in an atmosphere, something from the vaccum of space would have no defense against them."
Finally, a canon explanation for the weaknesses that me and every other fan pretty much had figured out already.

If # 648 is any indication, Big Time will be a blast. Very good stuff.

You will know more about Venom/symbiotes than me, but I would like to question your post/quote from the book. Aren't symbiotes from another planet? This planet would have living beings that would act as hosts to the symbiote parasite. These living beings would require an atmosphere, and thus, I imagine at least fire would exist on that planet. Is there anything you can add or provide me with some insight on?

Symbiotes originated from a planet where only symbiotes would exist. The Silver Surfer found the planet, and Galactus devoured it.
Then again, that story was pretty bad, so if you want to act as if it never happened, I'm with you.

It's the same story where the Carnage symbiote bonded to the Silver Surfer. So, the backstory was the least of that arc's problems.

Let's just assume the symbiotes lived on a planet with little atmosphere. xP

They could be like xenomorphs... an experiment gone wrong. Or something.

Haha either way a parasite can't live without a host and I'm pretty sure Symbiotes are classified as parasites. Sorry to dump on your parade but it just doesn't make any sense. Unless they are trying to say the Venom symbiote specifically was somehow created in space, then it I guess it would work. I haven't read it all yet so I'm not sure what context it was said in.

I haven't read it all yet so I'm not sure what context it was said in. 1- A symbiote and a parasite are two different things. Definiton wise, a symbiotic bonding benefits both the host and the symbiote. A parasitic bonding only benefits the parasite and hurts the host. (Spidey's bond with the symbiote was arguably either one; it drained his energy, but he never had to change clothes or re-load webshooters). 2- It was in that context where a civvie character is talking to Peter about something and he relates it to his life as Spider-man.

Even though a symbiote is not exactly a parasite in that it can provide some benefits to it's host where as a parasite does not, I believe symbiotes still need hosts to survive, and they cannot on their own. Otherwise, I don't think they would be classified as symbiotes. (I could be wrong and this would all be a waste of my time). But...I'll go on if for nothing but amusement.
Symbiotes still need a host to feed on and thereby live. (I'm not the most knowledgeable on symbiotes), but the bio on CV states they feed on the negative emotions of their host. So they must live on a planet with beings that are suitable hosts.
1) One could say that animals do not truly have emotions. They have basic instinctual reactions. Beings like humans have emotions. I would say that symbiotes living on a place with intelligent hosts would be capable of making fire, possibly even sonics.
2) But, if you would like to say they could also bond and feed of animals (who are not capable of creating fires), they must still live in an atmosphere that would allow them to breathe and live. For the sake of this argument I'll assume they would require oxygen, so a fire could feasibly still happen in nature.
But if you want to say that maybe there isn't oxygen, then I can't say you are wrong.
This whole post is full of assumption, and I realize it's a comic and I'm probably thinking about it too logically, realistically, or thinking too deep into it. But, its just fun to talk about =P
Anyone else who wants to jump in on this please do.

Ah see, that is something I didn't know. There's still...ah
I've talked about it enough, I'll just accept it as comic book fact =P

It's been a time that i have read 649, but i have to say it. It was awesome. I recall Morph saying that he didn't like the fact that they killed Kingsley. I didn't like it much either but i think that it really helped the story and it made it more interesting. I'm looking forward to getting the 650 and see spidey using his new costume. =]
