The issue was awesome. I'm really tired of saying the same things but i can not do otherwise when Slott is the writer of the issue. The armor looks cool. Also i loved Spidey's monologue at the end of the issue. =]

That person who was referring MA Spider-man had this to say about it.
I'm inclined to agree.

If this new Spidey lasted a while, and went up against, say, Carnage... that would be interesting. Considering the past encounters where Carnage killed dozens when Spidey wasn't around. That was even mentioned in his dream sequence.

I think i agree that the recent issue was one of the best of BIG TIME. That issue and the 648, was the best issues IMO. 655 is close too. I love how confident spidey is and that he actually does what he says. He says that no one dies when he is around and this is exactly what happened. He save both massacre and the hostages.

How/why did Spider-Man lose his spider-sense?

He was fighting against Scorpion and a bunch of dudes who had danger senses of their own. So he constructed a device to force them to lose that sense, but when he set it off, he was in the devices range, so he lost his spider sense too.

F*******k. That's like Wolverine losing his claws or something.

It's more like Wolverine losing his adamantium, which as you and I both know, has happened a few times in the past. Makes for some excellent story telling.

Smythe had made an army of insect that had the same danger sense like spidey. The Avengers came to help Pete but the have realized that the sense they had, made them untouchable. So Pete, tried to make a device that could take away that sense. Of course spidey was planning to use that device while he was not in the range of that device, so he would not be affected, but scoprion had ruined his plans, so spidey was forced to use that device in the range of the device, thus, he lost his spider-sense as well as the other insects. =]

SPIDER ISLAND COMING UPMarvel is proud to announce Spider-Island, the comic book event of the summer from the best-selling creative team of Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos. Kicking off this August in Amazing Spider-Man #667 (with a special prelude in #666) the citizens of Manhattan—including some of Spidey’s closest allies and deadliest foes—begin exhibiting the web-slinger’s very own powers! But as Spider-Man must stop a seemingly insurmountable super powered crime wave, he must also find out just who’s responsible for mutating Manhattan…and the truth will irrevocably alter his world. Fans will get their first full-length lead in to Spider-Island in Marvel’s special issue of Amazing Spider-Man, available for free at all participating comic shops on May 7th, Free Comic Book Day. “Back when Slott launched Spider-Man into the ‘Big Time’ last year, he started laying the groundwork for possibly the biggest Spider-Man story you’ve ever seen,” said Stephen Wacker, Marvel Senior Editor. “The price of power is high for heroes and villains. The Avengers, the FF, Venom, Spider-Girl, Spider-Woman, the Sinister Six and even YOU are connected to ol’ Web-Head in new ways. By the end of this story, we’re going to see what Spider-Man means to Marvel Universe and just how far he’ll go to keep it safe…including some life-changing choices that have major consequences.” This summer, Spider-Island brings great power to nearly everyone in New York City…and it’s Spidey’s great responsibility to keep this chaos from spreading even further! But just what will Spider-Man have to sacrifice in the process? Plus, don’t miss “Infested”, beginning in the pages of April’s Amazing Spider-Man #659 and setting the stage for the next big chapter in Spider-Man history. Credit to CBR.

Sounds like the perfect lead in to Pete getting his Spidey Senses back. Also, looks really cool.

It reminds me of when all heroes Hulked out. Looks cool though.

Well, now we know why MJ was clinging to a wall back in that teaser image.
@ K4tz - Strange things says you, potential for good fights, says I.
Also, this cover seems something out of a Deadpool variant, but, anyway.

True, that could explain it. But the speech bubble was "Peter, what have you done?".

True, that could explain it. But the speech bubble was "Peter, what have you done?". It's possible that she immediately targets Pete because, well, it's his powerset, so it's natural that he's the first person to spring to mind as the culprit, regardless on if it is true, or not.

I'm not sure how I feel about the Jackal being back, but, then again, that guy had a gazillion clones running around, so he's one of the easiest villains to resurrect without it being far-fetched.

So that guy is the Jackal. Wasn't sure it was him.

There was a preview at the end of the .1 issue with Peter opening doors in Horizon and going "YOU'RE HERE!? YOU!!!?!"
Meaning it's obviously Jackal.
