X-Men Legacy #248 was a good follow up to Age of X. I was glad to see that not everyone is having a speedy recovery from the event.

Yes, it is. It ended officially in XML 247 but there are still some repercussions from it.

Of the books you listed I read Uncanny X-Men and X-Men Legacy. If I had to choose one between the two it would be Uncanny. Are these the only books you are considering picking up? I also read Uncanny X-Force (which would be my first recommedation), X-Men, X-23 and Daken: Dark Wolverine.

When it comes to X-men, the best idea of choosing which title would suit you is to go by which character you like the most and go with whatever comic they main in. How far back in the trades are you thinking of going, fairly current stuff, or back in the 90's stuff?

FWIW, here is how I would rank the X books that I read: 1. Uncanny X-Force 2. X-23 3. Uncanny X-Men 4. X-Men: Legacy 5. X-Men 6. Daken: Dark Wolverine I enjoy ALL of them though, some just more than others. Regarding the TPB's, are you looking for recent stuff or older stuff or both?

Mostly newer stuff I just cant get into the old classic looking art maybe 90s to current or a little bit before...I just got a free Marvel comic that shows the trades in order and theres a lot of different x-men titles....
Characters I like Iceman, Wolverine, Jean, Fav is Gambit tho, and maybe some different mutants then the classic X-men would be interesting.

Completely understand the art thing. It took a while for me to get into it, too. Even now, it takes me a moment to readjust my eyes to the stylings of back in the day. Anyway, not much we can do with Jean right now, because she's, for all intents and purposes, dead. If you wanted to get some good stuff on her, those 90's X-men comics, and I do mean X-men, basically the X-Men Legacy before they renamed it Legacy, is where you woulda found her. Of course that carried over into what was called New X-Men, so I guess you got that. As for must reads with her that weren't all 90's like, I'd assume Phoenix Endsong is your best bet. You'll find Wolverine everywhere. His main series definitely. Old Man Logan was a good tale, so I guess I could recommend that. Iceman was around a good bit in the X-men series. And he pops up a good bit in Uncanny X-men too. If you're wanting to experiment with some stuff that's not really all that like the classics in the sense that the whole, "we're mutants trying to fight for our rights while facing big foes like Magneto and junk like that" well, that's really every X-book out there, but still--uh--whatever. What I'm trying to say is that I highly recommend Peter David's X-Factor. You'll get acquainted with quite a bit of different characters that aren't all that familiar to people who only know of Cyclops, Jean, Storm, and Wolvie, plus it's just quality story telling. Mutant Detective Agency. It's cool. Now as for Gambit, the go-to place for him would be X-Men Legacy. I think that about covers it all. If you have any questions on the how's and what's, there's always wikipedia, comic vine, and of course, your friendly neighborhood ledgers.

Wolverine is in Uncanny X-Force, Uncanny X-Men and X-Men pretty much every month. This is aside from his own book, The Avengers and the New Avengers.
Gambit is usually in X-Men and X-Men Legacy. In addition, he has been in X-23 for much of the early part of its run (issues #4 to #9 so far).
For TPB's here are some I would recommend. I'm sure someone with more X knowledge than myself will be along shortly to give you some more ideas. I included a few older stories that I consider "must read" as well as new ones. I put the year they started to help you out.
X-Men: The Dark Phoenix Saga (1980) X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills (1982) House of M (2005) X-Men: Messiah Complex (2007) Dark Avengers / Uncanny X-Men: Utopia (2009) X-Men: Second Coming (2010)
If you've read (and enjoyed) big events like Civil War, Secret Invasion and Siege there are also tie-in X-Men Volumes that make nice companions to the main titles.
Hope this helps you out.

Schism #1 was really good. Haven't got a chance to read #2 yet, hopefully I can get to it soon. I'm really curious where this is going to take the X-Men and who's going to end up on each side.

I just found out that Colossus is the new Juggernaut.
....Interesting. Not sure if I like the idea, or hate it. Or if it seems like an idea that will last more than half a dozen issues. Marvel is about OCD about maintaining the status quo sometimes.

What exactly is the premise of Schism? I haven't had a chance to keep up with it yet.

X-Men being persecuted while trying to protect a world that hates and fears them.
Big surprise, I know.
