But don't let that stop you. If you're interested in it, I'd recommend at least reading a preview of the first issue so you can determine for yourself if issue #1 is worth a chance.

Carnage is shit. Wells needs to stop writing anything symbiote related.

New Ways to Live was good, indeed.
But Dark Origin messed up Brock's motivations and character, terribly. He was not compulsive liar afraid of his own shadow that decided to use people in order to succeed in life. That goes against everything he actually did with the Venom symbiote later on.

(To be fair, as an effort to make Brock a pure villain, in the confines of the book itself; that was done well. But it doesn't work with Marvel's established canon for Eddie, so yeah). But what makes Carnage bad?

It makes sense since his suit gave fanboys the fake hint that Cletus wasn't in the suit. 2- I liked that. 3- A redo could work if done right, unlike the first. Which was done about ten kinds of wrong.

1. I do. Written properly, the situation would have been defused immediately. Iron Man ceased a symbiote invasion nearly single-handedly during Mighty Avengers. He doesn't need to power up like a DBZ character, as shown in # 3, nor he should have any trouble with Doppelganger's webbing. He's there because Wells thought, and I quote "his new armor resembles a symbiote". Come on. He outclasses any symbiote in power by leagues, so jobbing is inevitable.
2. It just makes no sense to me. Why would the symbiote try to keep Cletus alive? It could not have possibly known some Carnage aficionado would try to save him from orbit. Love for its host is one thing, but self-preservation is a primary objective for the symbiote.
Also, this is a missed opportunity. With a new host, Carnage could actually acquire some depth as a character. Much as I liked Cletus back in the 90s, what was his motivation? Where was the pathos? He was the symbiote version of the Joker. Kill kill kill kill, bath in blood, kill kill kill kill kill, and repeat, only Joker actually has a few arcs where we get to see the man behind the monster. Cletus never had any. He was a lun before he got the symbiote and he was the same thing afterwards.
3. Point here.

@morph
I really don't think they'll have a killing spree like before (at least I hope) and maybe this time they will give Carnage some depth.. but I agree that having Carnage's old allies back is stupid.. I 99% sure that Carnage killed Doppelganger and he's not that great of a character to bring back..

Only to be beaten down by two generic guards in this title.... And web Iron Man up in # 1.
Random guards > A guy wearing an armor that tanks nukes.

These weren't even those guards! They were just wearing GENERIC armor and they managed to beat a goddamn EVIL and virtually always bloodlusted clone of Spider-Man. I can't facepalm hard enough at that!
