This review can be dumbed-down with one simple sentence. "If you liked the Departed, you'll like The Town." It really is that simple. Just like The Departed, The Town follows a group of criminals in Boston, as well as the officers who are attempting to hunt them down. This movie isn't NEARLY as complex as the Departed, but it's every bit as entertaining and the performances are top-notch. My one and only critique: the ending was a bit too simplistic for me, but it worked.
k4tz's score 4/5
Spoiler alert After watching it, you'll be shocked to see that Ben Mother Fucking Affleck directed it. No joke.

To be honest, Ben seems to be a pretty good director. He should have gotten out of the acting game years ago and just done the directing.

I won't be at all surprised about Ben Affleck being the director of a good film, because he already made Gone Baby Gone.

I haven't seen any of his other work. I just know people tend to have a negative view of him.
