While it is a bit too early to say whether or not the show is here to stay, I enjoyed what I saw tonight. They didn't waste a lot of time with a long drawn out origin story, and while the plot may be a little cliche the supporting characters are highly enjoyable (David Keith especially), and the over-all acting quality was quite good (though Ryan Wynott proves to us once again that good child actors as impossible to find).
What are your thoughts?

Missed it on premier night, so I'll have to catch the encore. Someone remind me about it if you catch me online when it's on.

Oh snaps, might not have to wait 'til tonight after all. NBC's got it up on their site.

Eh? What is this show about? Bad guy screws over good cop, good cop is thought to be dead, good cop turns caped crusader with the help from folks from the circus.

Gotta say, I was a lil' iffy about this show based on the description. Virtually everything about the plot is sorta cliché, but having seen the show in action, I think I'm gonna enjoy it a lot.

I didn't want to see it, and apparently it was really crap.

The Cape is the most retarded looking show I have seen outside of the Syfy channel.

Ey don't be dissin' on Syfy. That's where my Eureka and Warehouse folks be. They're shows are good for the most part, but they come up with some of the most batshit idea when it comes to movies. Warehouse's premise rocks although I never find the time to watch it.

Ey don't be dissin' on Syfy. That's where my Eureka and Warehouse folks be. Gotta say I love Sci Fi (as it's called on down under ), for the two shows you mentioned plus Sanctuary (and Dresden Files when it was on). Eureka IMHO is an awesome show.

So I just watched it... Despite being bashed in all reviews, it was alright. I have no desire to catch the next episodes right as they air, but I might continue the show at a more casual pace. That said, there were a few things that really annoyed me- -It's bad enough most mock the super hero genre, so it doesn't help when some stuff feels TOO campy -He goes from regular cop to crime fighter and leaps across rooftops with no problem. BWAAH? -Despite having no money, he sets up a fully functioning base. WTF? -Right when he used his pass to help the cricus guys rob the bank, that would have set off some MAJOR red flags. Big companies like that can see WHICH id card was used to enter, and that would hint them about him possibly still being alive. That and...the fact there were NO remains, lol. -Why the hell can EVERYONE fight well? This guy was a soldier and a cop, and some bigtime ceo can school him in h2h? -After he gets poisoned, he falls over 50 stories onto a car....That was VERY tough to swallow.

I noticed a lot of them. I thought DC would have sued them for a lot of Batman references.
The base thing yeah, I guess he could have got the money from the Circus people after thy stole it. I agree with the bank thing, I was thinking while watching it that'll be the thing that makes people think he's alive or a ghost of some sort, but no. Nothing. The roof thing, I think he tried to use his cape last minute.
They should have looked at the script and thought we could just say something about these plot holes.

Having watched it again, I still think it's a pretty cool show. That jump to me felt like a shout out to Assassin's Creed, but from where I stand now, any dude in a hood's gonna remind me of Altair and Ezio.

Just wanted to say, I watched this show from beginning to end, and I was fairly pleased with how it progressed. Great character development, good overarching story. I'm just really pleased with how they've taken a spin on a pretty classic, almost cliche premise and made it worthwhile. And maybe looking at this show as a cliche of other things isn't how it's supposed to be viewed. Maybe the reason I liked it was because of how it snatches characters and scenarios of different comic books and uses them as a basis for shaping the world they present. Each character was an archetype of someone familiar to me so when I saw them in action, it was like I knew them and I didn't know them. Kinda cool.
Anyway, bottom line, I thoroughly enjoyed this thing, the season finale was amazing, I know it wasn't being watched much at all, and I'm sure everyone had their reasons. With the show canceled now all I can really hope for is a continuation of the story in comic book form.
