I should be reviewing the Wonder Woman series but I have been avoiding it because of the retcon. I have all the issues just sitting there and I have not touched them out of fear of hating WW so much I drop the character from my favorites. why did you buy it then

So you like her more? You should also read the Superman issue she was currently in.

Yeah once I started taking a step back from DC I realized this of actually a lot of their characters. Especially the magic based ones.

I'm sure loads of people review things they are scared of. Just remember that the character you love, so you can disregard the writing if it's bad.

They don't know where to go with magical creatures. They have loads, a lot I like. I think the ones you see most of are Zatanna and Alan Scott.

Like I said before, I hate current Wonder Woman because I liked her character before. If you don't care about her character as she was or just have little knowledge of her, then you might like it.
What I have been hoping writers do in the conclusion of the Odyssey arc is either remove Diana's memories of it ever happening and revert everything back as it was, or at the very least, let Diana come to the realization of who she really is so she can amend all of the methods and actions she took during this arc. I really am not in favor of an anti-hero style Wonder Woman, which is exactly what this current arc turned her into. She has stopped crimes that she saw, but her methods comprise of brutal slaughter and basically thievery to help people. She is not interested in betterment of society as a whole. Part of the reason she fights criminals is just to be rebellious against the gods' wishes, instead of a genuine care. She is also just borderline unintelligent; whereas, the real Wonder Woman actually had principles she upheld. Yes, she was aggressive in combat and just a bad@$$ when it came down to it, but there was more respectable purpose and methodology on her part before. Now, she is just an imperfect Wolverine/Punisher archetype.
Hence, I hate current Wonder Woman.

I loved the real Wonder Woman. I guess I should get to those current issues. I will probably just review the most recent issue and cover the previous ones in that one review to save time. I already predict that I will not like it based on Silver's explanation.
DC has been letting me down lately.

... Nothing against making Wonder Woman seem a little more human, but seriously, WTF is this? I miss the real Wonder Woman.

It seems weird, as far as place in continuity is concerned, that writers would choose to change Wonder Woman during a major arc, i.e. Brightest Day. Granted, she is not one of the major characters involved in it, but even still, the rest of the DCU seems to be becoming aware of what has been happening. In Brightest Day #21, Atom was investigating the deaths of Hawkman and Hawkgirl, and numerous other heroes were helping with the attack from Mera's old clan (I forgot what they were called). It was a little strange seeing Superman and Batman there but no Wonder Woman. :-\

@silver:
I do not even know why they would want to change WW in the first place. There is a reason she was one of the big three and it is not just because of her powers.

Erik-El: I concur. Simone was doing a good job with her; if anything, it was exactly the time not to change her.

Money is likely the reason all comics are made but this direction is hated by everyone that I have ever even heard voice an opinion on it.
It got a little bit of news time with the new outfit but that was the only thing that some people liked. It would have been better if Diana just decided to wear a new outfit. It is not like she has not done it before. Anyone remember the biker suit?
