DC doesn't know what to do with poor Diana.... sure they do, they just don't have the balls to do it. Have her stories be greek mythology based. The only reason they aren't is because greek mythology is too hardcore and it scares them...

I am reading through Vol 2 of Wonder Woman right now. I am really in love with this series so far. Sometimes 80's stories can suck but this is quality stuff in my opinion. Most of her stuff is Greek mythology based as well.

Just got done reading issue 44 and 45 of Volume 2 and the fates directly reveal that Diana is the reincarnation of Pandora.
Very interesting.

The only reason they aren't is because greek mythology is too hardcore and it scares them... I don't have a problem with her stories being based in Greek Mythology..I think the problem is she doesn't have any credible re-occurring rouges. She doesn't have anyone like the Joker,or Darkseid,or Lex Luthor....She's written kind of like Thor, his storyline is grounded in Norse Mythology and with the Asgardians. He's their champion like Diana is for the Amazons in Themyscara, but he has an extensive and powerful set of Rouges (Loki,Enchantress,Surtur,Ulik etc.)

Byrne took over after Loebs' train wreck and the funny thing is, he spent the first dozen issues or so retconning most of the crap that Loebs wrote. I kind of feel bad for Byrne. It is like the cleanup after Hiroshima. Having to weave in the explanations and retcons into the story you want to tell is just not good. But I must say, he at least seems to care about his stories. He is much much better than Loebs but not quite matching the magic that was Perez. Well, so far anyway. I am on 129 and so far, Byrne has written pretty cool stories.

Does anyone know when the Odyssey arc concludes? Or how many parts it was supposed to run for? The 7th part will be released next month, I think, but I want to know how many more there are after that.

Okay, I'm thinking of getting in to her comics. The dilemma is, do I start with Heinberg's issue 01? Or do I go straight into Simone's stories at 14? Or do I just start at 600?

@supreme Marvel: To be honest, you should probably read Wonder Woman's second volume before starting her third, because several plot points are carried over. It would be worth it to read though.
If you just want to skip over it though, start at issue 1. As for issue 600 and above, you may be able to appreciate that story if you are not much of a Wonder Woman fan before, but if you are, you are, you might not enjoy it.

Yeah, I'm not much of a fan of hers. I would like to be. I don't mind reading her first volume. If the beginning of Vol. 2 is around War of the Gods then I might try and start there.

I should be reviewing the Wonder Woman series but I have been avoiding it because of the retcon. I have all the issues just sitting there and I have not touched them out of fear of hating WW so much I drop the character from my favorites.
