I was thinking just anti-personel explosives with a trip-wire/fuse. Nothing spectacular, just powerful enough to kill a man at extremely close range. You know like set it up under a table or chair so when the target sits down or pulls the chair out it's enough to kill/seriously wound. Sounds peachy, but keep the whole middle-ages thing in mind. China had explosives long before the Middle Ages If you want to I can say he travelled to a far off land where he learned how to do it

@dedman sounds fine, throw up a character bio when you get a chance.
Looks like the party will be something like 1 warrior, 15 rogues.
I'm off to bed guys. I hope to get a brief opening post up tomorrow.

Wow Rogue is a popular class. I don't know if mine fits stereotypically, but I wasn't sure what mine would be.

Dane: Oh, ok. I was going with the LotR standard that elves are generally talked than men. I forgot that that is sort of unusual in the fantasy world. Ok. I'll take away the strength but keep the speed/dexterity. Would it be within the rules if he gains those powers from magical items of some sort, such as an even cloak specialized for shadows, ECT?

@luna yeah, it doesn't have to be specifically Rogue though. You can call him a Ranger or an Assassin, whatever fits. @power NeXus I think that's more of the actors used in the movies. In the books they're between 5'5 and 6'0 typically. ( Sauce) You're welcome to have an item like one of these... Cloak of Shadows - Literally partially envelopes your body in shadow, making you harder to see in the dark. Cloak of Vanishing - Allows you to literally vanish from plain sight while you wish to use it's power. Cloak of the Fugitive - Makes the wearer almost impossible to track. (presumably hides your footprints and changes to blend with the forest you're in, the wall you're standing against, etc) Or using some illusion magic to produce kind of like a weak disillusionment charm from Harry Potter. @drizzt Yours looks good. Though, in what way is his rapier invisible? Can he still see it?

Dane you know what I never thought of that when I was making him lol..Thanks for bringing that up...if it is ok with you he has a enchantment on it to attune specifically for his eyes to see it or do i need to change it all together?

@drizzt I was just kind of wondering how he picks up an invisible sword without hurting himself. I don't mind what kind of enchantment you make it have. You could just make it bound to him so that he can sense it's presence. (And presumably, which way the blade is facing)
But he'd need some sort of deep connection to it. It'd be rather hard for it to be attuned specifically for his eyes unless he was the wizard who enchanted it to begin with.

Ok I can have it bound to him to sense it that sounds more simple then making it attune for just his eyes..I wanted to use a simple enchantment to start with that could get people off guard instead of some powerful one to instantly freeze them with one slash or something like that.

@drizzt Yeah, no. I understand what you were trying to do and that's awesome. I just thought in practical terms when you try to pull it out in a fight there might be some difficulty.

Human Approximation Of His Name: Waepnok Loopwicket Race: Arcane Gnome (Arcane Gnomes live in cities, are more comfortable around other races, and are more industrial/technological in mindset. Other than that they are roughly the same in physical traits. ) Gender: Male Class: Tinkerer/Prankster/Springcrafter Alignment: Neutral Good Build: Average Gnome Build Height: 3'8" Weight: 87 lbs Age: 38
Magic: Journeyman Illusionist (Racial) Master Animal Empath (Racial) Journeyman Fire Magics (Learned)
Skills: Grandmaster Springcraft Grandmaster Blacksmithing Grandmaster Tinkering Master Alchemist (Primarily, lubricants for his machinery though he knows how to make various chemicals.) Novice Combatant
Gear: I can expand upon anything if you are worried. Spring Assisted Weight Elevation Carriage (Allows him to carry similar weight to an average human.) Spring Loaded Gauntlet (Think Spring Loaded Boxing Glove but with a spiked gauntlet instead.) Spring Loaded Boots (Allow him to reach heights of a average human jumping.) Spring Loaded Sword (Allows for quick deployment of his short sword from his sleeve.) Souped Up Repeating Crossbow (Fires at double the rate of a normal repeating crossbow with easier reloading.) Miscellaneous Tinkering Equipment (Tools and such) Spring Loaded Platform Traps (Can lift an average weight human off the ground 1.5 feet.)
Bumblotto: Bumblotto is his pet, he can communicate with him empathically. Bumblotto (Bumble for short) is a hound dog about 3 feet tall. He generally carries some of Waepnok's more heavy equipment on his back. Bumble is relatively lazy and nearly useless in a fight but will come when Waepnok calls. They are rarely seen apart and will wait for him when they are apart at a designated location. Bumble has standard stats for a dog his size. In times of great danger, Waepnok has ridden atop an unburdened Bumble to safety. History: Waepnok was born to Daernig and Olffwinkle, and received a puppy at birth as his birth pet that he named Nerfoodle. As with all gnomes, his birth pet died and it exposed him to the dangers of life. Not wanting to attach himself to anything that could die he delved deeply into the machine arts. During his formative years, he studied under mostly Gnomish tinkerers but many times left the comforts of the Gnome portion of Harrowdale known as Blimbotle and into the many human inventors workshops for apprenticeships never really becoming familiar with the instructors themselves. He quickly fell in love with a device one of his human master's showed him, the Spring. During his many trips out of Blimbotle, he came upon a stray dog that resembled Nerfoodle and he took him in despite his fear of losing Bumblotto. He has spent much of his time in Harrowdale but is looking to expand his knowledge by traveling to other cities.

somewhat edited Name: Jayar Race: Half elf and half human Gender: Male Class: Rogue Alignment: Mercenary, occasional Anti-Hero Height: 5'7 Weight: 130 Age: 44 (his aging is slowed by being half-elf, so he still appears to be in his 20s) Magic: Small amounts of natual elven magic (not much more than little tricks on the level of a 1st year Hogwarts student). He is superhumanly quick, and agile and has superhuman senses. He can also use magic to heal wounds when he concentrates (this technique was taught to him by a very ancient mage in payment for a rescue job). Skills: Master of stealth combat (greatly aided by superhuman speed/agility and shadow-melding. Expert tracker and hunter. Swordsman of nearly unmatched skill. Unerring accuracy. Gear: Broadsword of the finest dwarven steel (can cut through nearly anything, glows bright green when held in combat). Crossbow, and bandolier of crossbow bolts. Variety of small knives. Cloak of the Fugitive - Makes the wearer almost impossible to track. (hides your footprints and changes to blend with the forest you're in, the wall you're standing against, etc). History: Jayar's father was an elf, and his mother was a human. Both of them died in a battle when he was a boy. Because of his mix-breed status, he was never fully accepted in either the elven or human societies. Because of that, he took on a sort of "if nobody cares about me, then I won't care about anybody else either" attitude. He held no real alliegances to any race, and his one true joy was the adrenaline rush of hunting and fighting, so he became a mercenary. He still retains the basic moral principles instilled in him by his parents, so he never takes jobs for the 'bad guys', unless it's for the purpose of double-crossing them and taking their money.
