I'm not nearly as upset about it as all the other fan boys. In fact, I'm really not upset at all.

What role didn't you like in The Incredible Hulk? I had no issue with Bruce or Betty. Norton was pretty good, but I felt William Hurt over acted the shit out of his role. They were all alright, maybe it was just the dialogue in general that was a bit weak.

I think Norton did a good job, but the outrage over the recast was ridiculous, imho.
I can understand that about General Ross, but I didn't really have any issues with his performance.

Tim Roth was alright. Yeah Idk it just all seemed pretty average to me. Every other Marvel movie has had at least one standout performance, and TIH didn't.

I thought the acting in all of their movies except The Incredible Hulk was very good. I'm not sure if you saw Cap yet, but it definitely seemed to me that Joe Johnson put story and characters over special effects. I haven't been impressed at all by any of the acting. A lot of it seemed phoned in. The only one that was very good and surprised me was Iron man. The others meh. Thor especially had a lot of problems.

I thought Thor had some standout performances from Hemsworth especially, and Hiddleston. Hopkins was pretty good because he's well, Anthony Hopkins and he gave some good emotional sequences, but the rest weren't given a whole lot to do.

I thought Hemsworth did a good job as well.

Yeah like I said I think the problem mostly stemmed from the weak writing and dialogue in TIH.
When are you going to see Cap?

I thought Thor had some standout performances from Hemsworth especially, and Hiddleston. Neither of them gave standout performances. Thor's performance was by no means bad, but it was generic and definitively not a stand out. Loki was better overall, but the performance would have needed a lot more subtlety since he's playing a character's who amongst his titles is called the lie-smith. Transition between moods after revelations was furthermore underwhelming. Anthony Hopkins and he gave some good emotional sequences, but the rest weren't given a whole lot to do. Hopkins is a great actor. But he phoned in his performance. There wasn't any impression that he cared or put effort into the role. He just let his natural charisma flow through. But there was no effort. If he had, he would have given a much better performance. Portman's performance was under her acting ability. She could have done better then this. The brother's three and Sif both were O.K but nothing to write home about. combined with the other problems the movie had. Thor is nothing to write home about as a movie. Certainly entertaining, not bad. But nothing I'd call close to great. It was O.K that's it.

You know my main problem with Thor? It just wasn't long enough. It would have solved a couple issues:
1) Gave the story and characters more room to breathe and develop. I'm talking another 15 minutes or so. 2) The action scenes would have been longer, especially the Destroyer fight. I can't express enough how much that was a wasted opportunity. It could have been one of the most epic fight scenes we have seen on screen in a CBM. Also, you could tell where the Jotunheim fight scene was cut. It was a bit choppy, and would have done better if it was a bit longer and not cut, so it could flow better.
I think I remember hearing Branagh say they cut something like 30 minutes from the film. I think that hindered it a bit.

I also thought Captain America was really good. But k4tz thinks it is the worst Marvel Studios movie yet. So just do not go in expecting the best goddamn thing since they invented a woman and you should be fine.
