Which means he was allowed to bring the real writer sandwiches and Starbucks. And even on the off chance that he actually was given the opportunity to put pen to paper, I would not trust him to hit the right note twice considering his Marvel Black Eye.

Yeah I have to agree with you at least to some extent, Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer left MUCH to be desired.
