I think Manapul's art fits very well specific characters while it is just plain odd when applied to others. Same thing with Romita Jr.
Also, prepare for the (not undeserving) Leifeld hate-fest.

Manapul is completely unsuited for dark, occult or very serious stories in my opinion. I love his take on Superboy, and he does a good Flash, but I agree he is well fitted for more lighthearted (and coloured) stories. So, he's the opposite of Deodato Jr in that aspect.

I don't remember what Deodato has drawn... Let me upload some pics. I actually think I'll just name a few of the titles he's drawn, since this is a thread about artists we hate, and Deodato is great, despite his extensive use of shadows in interiors.
He's been an artist in JMS's Amazing Spider-Man, Incredible Hulk, Warren Ellis' Tunderbolts, and very recently, the Dark Avengers.

Basically every artist Marvel has. I understand you not liking Marvel, but this is really unreasonable. You are condemning all the artists a company has just because they work for them? What happens to Ivan Reis who is an excellent artist and has worked on several Marvel titles, or David Finch, and Jim Lee and a few dozen examples of artists who also work for both? Are they terrible when they work for Marvel but great otherwise?

I look at my roommate's books that he gets every week and am jus not impressed. Yes, I am a little more biased towards DC but I don't have a problem with Marvel.

Both companies have great, good, or just plain bad artists if we take the time to look, is all I'm saying.

A lot actually.

It's moreso "dislike" than "hate" but I'm really not a fan of Alex Ross. It's a common complaint, but I really do find his art, however technically capable it is and beautiful in commissioned pieces, to be really boring for a comic. His characters look so motionless and static and it's one of the reasons why I haven't read Kingdom Come yet because his art puts me off.
