Grayson will always be my favorite. Tim I feel was the best robin. Jason, most of the time I really like him but sometimes he just rubs me the wrong way. And I love Damian's character and how he's like the little brother to both Dick and Steph.

cause he came back as Red Hood, then became a terrible character. Thus that retroactively removes his status as a Robin.

Dick has been portrayed excellently in detective comics and batman,tim in red robin and damian whenever he pops up(batgirl 17 and superman/batman 77).
poor jason though .

I absolutely do hate him. However I hate even more what his introduction has done to the DC world and what he represents.

His personality has no appeal to me, he's a little brat that makes me want to smack him in the back of the head.
But worst is that his introduction was done at the expense of so much better stuff in the Batman universe. It is abhorrent what his introduction has done to actually good characters like Talia and Ras Al Ghul.
He's one of the reasons I no longer buy core DC universe comics.

True, he did bulldoze the Al Ghuls. But I like his personality. I wouldn't be able to stand him if he were a real person and would probably smack him upside the head as well but I like him as a foil to Dick's Batman. I'm too much of Bat fangirl drop any titles cause of him. |

The idea that Talia would rape Bruce is just offensive. Yet that's basically what they are saying about Damian.
Personally, as a total Batman fan. I won't buy anything with Damian in it out of principle. He's not robin and his entire existence was a knife twisted in the batman mythos.
screw him. And I"m not happy with Dick putting on the bat costume too. It completely destroyed so much character devellopment.

Yea... I didn't think Dick would stick with being Batman. For some reason I remember him not wanting to be Batman and becoming Nightwing to distance himself from the cowl. Thinking back now I can't remember whether he chose to stay on as Batman or if Bruce asked him too. Its been a while. I need to reread the Return and Incorporated but I have to admit that I like Damian and Dick together. Its not the Dynamic Duo we know and love but to me it's still pretty damn entertaining.

Now it's just kind of out of continuity. I didn't actually read it before I started writing this. I messed up a lot of details, like Batman wasn't drugged when he was having sex with Talia and it didn't take place in the desert. I was relying on shaky memories. But now we have this new "Superboy punch" continuity. People still don't realize how important that single punch was to cover everyone's ass. This is what morrison had to say about the rape,and the reason he got it mixed cause TALIA DID force him in to marrying her when he was knocked unconsious or drugged(DC special series by dennis o neal),they never married in son of the demon .that marriage took place in the series i just mentioned.Talia had already become villian in death and maidens ,that was DC's decision and i'm not sure what Ra's has to do with this he was dead when damian came. and dick as nightwing was a loser. he got beat by bane twice,by Ra's twice,by slade more times than i can remember,by vigilante,by todd,stalemated by arsenal every single time,by cheshire,oneshotted by bruce,raped by tarantula.do i need go on? nightwing=cool looking costume worn by cool lookiing and acting guy,nothing more. and now as batman he stalemated slade,stalemated a perfect bruce clone,oneshotted arsenal,beat jason,beat Ra's.now that's development. |
