I was hoping for more Captain America action scenes, like hand to hand combat and bad assery, but I'll just have to wait for that =P I can understand that they are making an effort to thoroughly explain his origin and set it up in the trailer, rather than mostly jumping to random action scenes.
Overall, I think it is going to be great. It looks to have the elements of a winner here, hopefully the script and direction really follows through. Have a good feeling about it.

Anybody else notice "Mr. Stark"?

I'm kinda glad they focused on skinny Steve in the trailer. Showed me that Evans can definitely fit the role. That Mr. Stark thing was cool too. Looks like Howard plays a small part in this.

Yep, I hear that as well. I think he looks like a good choice for a younger Howard Stark. Plus, Stanley Tucci is awesome as Erskine. And then you have Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving, and Hayley Atwell. Great, great supporting cast.

Would you rather it be so accurate yet so lame? I would rather it be accurate and awesome... In a perfect world that would be a viable option, but forced to choose, what would you rather have between the two? Accuracy or awesomeness?

In a perfect world that would be a viable option, but forced to choose, what would you rather have between the two? Accuracy or awesomeness? depends on the situation.

The situation is you watching a Captain America movie. Better yet, let's change it around a bit. If they made two movies, one that was completely accurate to the time period, clothing, characterization, setting, even plot, and the other that might not be so accurate, incorporating things like a guy punching his way into a Submarine window underwater for instance, and you watched both. Which one would you see yourself enjoying more?
And this question isn't just for you, I'm curious about everyone's thoughts on this. How much, for lack of a better term, "awesomeness" are you willing to trade off for historical, even canonical accuracy, and vise versa? How far down each side of the spectrum is everyone willing to go concerning comic adaptations and historical fiction? This might be a good topic of discussion. If I were to make a thread would anyone be interested in it?

And again it's all relative, how much inaccuracy I'm willing to trade for spectacular and cinematic) entirely depends on what I'm watching. Saying you're watching Captain america isn't enough. Which Cap? What are you aiming at? Etc.
Sometimes complete accuracy is what makes a movie awesome (as opposed to spectacular and cinematic which is not the same thing)

Well, the question arose from you saying this trailer looks awesome yet so inaccurate. Something had to have rubbed you the wrong way just by watching the trailer alone, so I guess now for the scope, the situation, what I'm aiming at in this case is strictly about the trailer and the images that are leading up to the Cap movie.
