Alright. Some of you will remember that on the "Battle Boards Complaint" thread on the Vine, I listed character misconceptions that get on my nerves. Now, if someone is new to a character or honestly just lacks knowledge about certain aspects of a character, nothing wrong with that. There are numerous characters that all of you could school me in. But since practically the only thing I do on the Vine battle forums now is try to educate users who have no idea what they are talking about, it becomes repetitive, irritating, and just boring. So I thought I would post some of these misconceptions that bother me here. These are things I hate having to go over. I will list some, and all of you can add misconceptions that you believe exist. We probably will not all agree on every one of these here, but in general, we should be in agreement. If anyone disagrees with the misconceptions I list, I can explain why I mentioned them. These are some that I get sick of. -Martian Manhunter can be defeated with a match. (Seriously, even Pre-Trial by Fire, no one ever beat him with a match.) -Anakin is more powerful than Sidious because he killed him in Return of the Jedi. (Has no one heard of CIS?) -Wonder Woman has low durability because she can be penetrated by bullets. (Which must explain why she tanked a nuke, right?) -Silver Surfer loses his powers without his board. (Because movies are canon... Oh, wait.....) -Boba Fett is a wimp because Han knocked him into the Sarlacc Pit on accident. (PIS, anyone?) -Daredevil has Olympic level physicality. (Feats>Handbooks. 'Nuff said.) -Flash always runs FTL. (Then why has he specifically mentioned accelerating to light speed in his monologues more than once?) -Iron Man can be defeated with an EMP. (Not really.) -Revan is the most powerful Force sensitive ever; he is the heart of the Force. (Yes, because that makes so much sense. -_-) -BatMan can defeat anyone with prep. (I love BatMan to death, but let's try to be realistic. He is excellent with prep, but he is no Doctor Doom.) -Static is a mini-Magneto. (Static is a mini-Black Lightning, at best.) -Doctor Doom with prep can beat The One Above All. (So he can make himself beyond omnipotent?) -Starkiller pulled down a Star Destroyer. (...No......just, no.....) -Spectre needs backing from the Presence. (He has power on his own. The Presence just places restraints on his power.) -Nova is as powerful as Silver Surfer. (Nova #14 suggests otherwise.) -SuperMan is still greatly weak to magic. (Then would anyone care to explain how he has done well against several magical opponents?)
There are more I could post. Hope to see what you guys have to say.

Can we just make a ruling that anything from the Force Unleashed never happened? That game is worse than the prequels. Yes, I said it.

You can chew my head off for this if need be, but I actually did like the prequels. (Sorry. ) The Force Unleashed story is alright. I really have no problem with it, and it does tie into continuity as Sidious rooted out the Rebellion by manipulating Starkiller. But all of the misconceptions surrounding him and his power levels are....just..........

1) Just because Daredevil is blind that does not mean that he is useless. His blindness allows him to see even better than any other human. 2) DBZ characters are not gods. 3) Wolverine tends to fight like a savage man but that does not mean that he never uses his skills neither that he is not skilled. In fact he is one of the best. 4) When spidey really tries and he is serious, he can actually be competent and beat many street levelers.

Another point; dodging a bullet does not mean that this character is capable of moving at the same speed. This applies for all things such as Cyclops' blasts or Superman's heat vision.

@morpheus: No problem. The misconceptions you mention do not have to be related to the battle forums. I only mentioned those with mine because I get sick of hearing them. They could be related to anything.
That said, Revan is not Darth Revan. The light side ending to KOTOR is the canon ending. Hence, he turned back to the light. Revan, not Darth Revan.

The Daredevil one in particular is just ridiculous.

Fair enough. Somehow I have a feeling that bullet one was subtly aimed at me.

It tells you who actually reads comics involving Daredevil, and who simply pulls information out of wikis.

It actually has to do with idiotic fanboys saying Storm could move FTL because she dodged Cyclops' beams.

Also, even if you don't read any DD comic, it's still stupid to believe that he is just a blind guy because he shouldn't even be a hero at all.

I thought you read the Captain America vs BatMan thread (hard to explain; you would have to read it.) Misconception: Any Sith other than Sidious is the most powerful Sith in Star Wars canon. (He can ravage planets, Drain on planetary scales, and extend his dark side influence on populations of entire planets. How many planetary feats does he need for people to get it? This is not even addressing his dueling skill, Essence Transfer, and knowledge of virtually every Force power.)

@silver, mostly the Spectre one. He does have power of his own true. But the backing of the Presence aspect of his power level is actually very important.
As this was spoken of and demonstrated on more then one occasion. A more accurate way of describing the specter is has a job and company benefits.
Granted this is just nitpicking on my part.
What I will never agree is Spidey_15'S statement that Spider-Man suddenly gets more competent because he is serious, that is just plain bull.
