@crom - I don't get it, was there supposed to be a pic or something? Or are you giving me the silent treatment?

Misconception: Master Chief owned the Covenant.
He actually just got very luckily, if it weren't for Cortana the humans would have lost anyway.

While I believe that to be one of the hugest misconceptions to date, it does seem to have some merit. DC characters are generally shown to do more massive things on a daily basis than most Marvel heroes. Sure, Marvel does have its heavy hitters. Most of them are cosmic. And DC does have some of its jobbers, but from my experience in the battles forum, backing a DC character over a Marvel one seems to be the safest bet when you don't know much about either characters. I'm kinda interested in knowing why that is. Story telling in general? Is there some code that the writers have to follow when writing for certain companies and such?

This would require it's own thread (start it if you want me to elaborate otherwise I'll be brief) But it is a very real misconception whom exists because the place heroes of certain power levels have in their story universes are not the same. Overall taking all characters into account, Marvel Character are not weaker. However, what characters are where does not follow the same paradigm in DC compared to Marvel.

New one, compliments of the morons on the Vine.
Misconception: Wolverine can kill Supergirl because, apparently, he scratched Clark in a crossover. (.....Do I really need to say anything about this?)

Misconception: Colossus only has an armor exterior or that he bleeds actual blood in armored form.
This is absolutely not true. Colossus' entire body turns to the organic steel down to a molecular level. He bleeds energy.
I swear that if anyone mentions my much loved Wolverine Goes to Hell arc, I will give them an immediate warning! I like the story but damnit that mistake sure got to me.

Surfer says hi. Tell him I said uggidy boogity boo..he'll know what it means. If I were to tell you that X-Man, Nova, Thor, Beta Ray Bill, Quasar, Black Bolt, and Dr. Strange had a few comments to make, what your response be?

This isn't a misconception it's a fact. No it's a dumb myth enforced by ignorance of the grander scale or the paradigm of each universes. When you take the entire universes of each company. Neither are more powerful.
