ooooh.... only one female "Worthy"...?? & its Titania...?? there must be a better female super that puts Fear into the hearts of men. Who is that last one really.. could it really be Ben Grimm..?? but why does he have those Squid-things on him, makes me think of an Aquatic person but his coloration makes me think of a Lava-creature.

My guess is they're specifically taken as worthy because they are physical, the logic being "Hey, these guys can rival Thor in a fight, let's see how they do with AWESOME GOD POWERS now.

The way i see it, is of course each one of these guys (a girl) can bring the FEAR into a lot of people. The Hulk & Juggy already widely feared, Absorbing man & Titania are quite famous a while back for causing much destruction & Fear. Attuma rightly feared among his people & the surface world. Grey Gargoyle... his ability to turn people (even Gods) to stone does give him quite a notorious rep & The Thing, i believe that people are still quite a bit afraid of him when they see him. All of these guys do bring the Fear but there are others that are even better at the Fear thing. Hmm.... maybe The Serpent doesn't want any competition from other Godly types, there are after all the Fear Lords even beings like Dormammu can cause much much Fear. So i guess we'll have to see why they are "The Worthy" then, why they were chosen in the coming issues or the web/digital specials.

I am guessing the hammers have gods inhabiting them in the same way Sin's did. They need mortal vessels to inhabit. You will not be getting that from other gods and demons. Dormammu does not even have a physical body from what I understand.

The Thing looks like Rockslide. I got more of an Astaroth vibe myself.

This may have driven me to read into this alongside Batman Inc.

This may have driven me to read into this alongside Batman Inc. I have read the first three Fear Itself related issues that have been released and I say that it is a worthy event so far. That is coming from a guy who was event-jaded up until the point in which I finally gave them a chance.

*Cough* Batman Inc sucks *Cough* I only read the main plot anyway...I just want to see where it goes. Hopefully this works out for Marvel.

Money is tight so I may just start at the first issue and pick up any pre-release plot via the Internet to supplement if needed.

At first I was iffy. As I said before, I have grown tired of all the events. That plus I initially hated the idea that Odin was not actually the All-Father. That pissed me off a bit so I refused to pick up the Prologue book for a while.
Once issue #1 and Home Front #1 came out, I decided that I would at least give it a try and I was very surprised at how much I liked it.

Spellca: That is probably a good idea. The core issues are the ones that should get the focus if anything. The Prologue was fun and informative, but not necessary. Same with the Home Front issue. It seems to focus on the effects the Serpent has on the people of Midgard and the low levels supers there rather than anything else.

I might pick up the Prologue since I bought the equivalent issue for Inc. Since that essentially says "Here was the plot before, here is now and we are moving in this direction..."
