TNG is the only Star Trek I've ever really liked.
But I also give props to the original series just because it's so iconic.

But the stories are still good.

Plus Picard saved the Federation and the entire planet quite a few times over, remember that little anti time fiasco? Time skipping Picard went through 3 Enterprises to close that thing. Cisco also saved the Federation a few times. There's the many turns in the war with the Dominion when it was about lost. The couple of time travel ones. He took the place of some great name in history and did the things that that person was remembered for which lead to great change, aboard Enterprise A- Tribbles IIRC. There is another but I can't think of it just now.

It's nothing against Sisko when I chant how awesome the Picard is, he simply was a bigger player in the Star Trek verse. Sure Sisko got to shake Kirk's hand, Picard on the other hand went horseback riding with him, convinced him to essentially leave his heaven to go fight the bad guy and burried him. Unlike Sisko he wasn't just completely awe struck at the Kirk's awesome. Not to mention due to his efforts, he saved the Federation from the Borg and had First Contact go on without a hitch, in like the same week lol. It doesn't mean Sisko was a bad Captain, although he did have his own hissy fit moments like in "Badda -Bing, Badda-Bang" which I just found silly, just Picard was better.

I think the closest Janeway will ever get to saving the Federation was telling Picard to head over to the Neutral Zone in the last film. Outside that, she seems to have caused it a lot more hurt trying to get back home.

Janeway was a crappy captain from day 1. I mean for fucks sake the only reason Voyager happened was because she screwed up.

My love for the Voyager series (and yes I'm one of the few who loved it) had very little to do with Janeway and more to do with the crew. I loved the characters and interaction of Chakotay, Tuvok, Tom, B'Elanna etc. Though to be honest I had a love for Voyager long before it aired having read several books about the characters. The show grew on me but if I was honest it wasn't as good as the written word.
Now having read about 7 books about the Klingon ship I.K.S Gorkon under Klang that's the next series I want to see produced. Even some of the bit players in that are awesome.

No series will be done in the original universe again. It is going to all be in the JJ-verse now.

Erik-El-el 1. What makes you so sure that will be the case? 2. A series could be done about I.K.S. Gorkon and fit in either universe. For those who haven't read the books a brief outline of th first two to give the picture. In the first the Klingon empire needs to expand after having lost so many resources to the Dominion war. Klang straight after bing inducted into the order of the Batleth (along with Worf- the order being the assigned protectors of Klingon honor) takes his ship into unexplored space to do this. He finds a world or a warrior people in a much younger stage of development. They attack and are pushed back . The natives than challenge the Klingons to a series of war games to lengthen the battle, the winner of which will take the planet. After teh first several games it's even and comes down to Klang vs the leader of the natives in a sword fight. Klang looses only because he hasn't grown fully accustomed to using his fathers arm(grafted to replace his lost in battle). He gives his word that the Klingons will not bother them again. In the second the Klingon general decides to attack the planet Klang has sworn they would not. Klang protests that a Klingon warrior has given his word, but the general doesn't care. Klang contacts the rest of the order of the Batleth to let them know what is transpiring. As the Klingon fleet approaches the planet it faces 6 (might have been 7) Klingon ships all under the command of members of the order (seeking to preserve the integrity of Klingon honor). During the battle a few other ships who's commanding officers weren't but 2nd or 3rd officers were members of the order change sides as those member take command in time honored Klingon fashion. The order win the day. Martok arrives (now chancellor) thanks the order for their noble efforts, strips the general of his rank etc. The planet then ask to become part of the Klingon empire (the leaders adviser saying the day will come when others with sky ships seek to conquer better to be alligned with a race of simlar honor to our own). I think you get teh pictiure about how the rest of it will go. Some of teh bit players in the series of books are awesome. The foot troopes for example are in goups pf 4's they rank from the 1st 4 down based on courage and skill. Most of the ground battles focus on a single four that rises through the ranks quickly. The tactical officer knows it's one of his best and always puts them in the hot spots but he can't find good enough reasonto insult the honor of all those above them to promote them stright into the first 10. They are however the only four who always achieve their objectives

What makes me sure is that the JJ-verse made Star Trek cool and big giant companies cash in on cool, not fan-service. If that were not true, they would not have made the movie in the first place and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles would have been successful. In fact, they were already working on a show for the original universe before the movie was put on the table. After the movie got the green light, the potential new show that was going to be set 20 years after Nemesis got the axe. Now they are talking about an Enterprise show based on the JJ-verse.

I've only seen about one season for TNG so far. It's really rad but getting through 8 seasons isn't something you can do easily without neglecting other things.

Do you know which season it was? Because if you thought season 1 was rad, you will fall completely in love with the rest since season 1 of TNG is considered by most to be the worst of them all.

It's a 'little' dated. >.> <,<!!! The dawn of a new empire! A captain without hair! Without a Vulcan science officer! Lack of red-shirts dieing horribly! THE SEASON DATA GOT LAID!!!
