I disagree.

I don't agree with the ranking system based on mastering a number of forms of combat, but practical use of these skills. Knowledge is nothing if you can't use it effectively. If a character is very skilled in the use of one martial art, and can beat someone who is a master in numerous martial arts, who should be ranked higher? The character who can use their skills more effectively, not the one who knows more forms of combat.

Yeah that's what I was meaning before. Just didn't come across that well.

That's why I said who can beat who is just as important.
For instance, Zaran is a 7. Yet he's been beaten by everyone from Taskmaster to Hawkeye and Daredevil.

Maybe we should have a tier system? Like different levels of Master/Expert etc.

I'm cool with it either way.

I think that will overcomplicate matters.

What do you guys make of Cap (Steve)? He recently underwent a downgrade. He used to be one of the few 7s since the inception of this system, yet Marvel's most recent update placed him at 6.

His wrecking of Shang Chi during training justifies a 7 Honestly, despite him saying he mastered all forms on combat back in the classic era, I'd dispute he's more-so a 6.

Perhaps this should have remained in our admin chat since we're still the only ones talking about this

NEED MORE OPINIONS: AGREE OR DISAGREE? IF THE LATTER, DISCUSS WHY.
BANE - 6 CATMAN - 4 CAPTAIN AMERICA (STEVE) - ?

Sorry. I was looking through ranking systems in martial arts to see if it'll be better.

It's okay, I just think this system is pretty simplistic and easy to understand. Clearly, one doesn't need to know EVERY form of combat to be ranked a 7. We're more-so going off of showings.

Well I'm not too great with martial artists. And especially not great with Marvel. But I'll help out if I can. But I believe anything I know, Morph will know and more.

This can be for ANY character in comics. Hell, you can even dispute on what you think Hal or Superman should have for this. The character doesn't need to specialize in h2h to be ranked.

Soo, what about Batman? Everyone will know him. Should he be 6? Or 7?

I believe Batman should be a 7. Knowledge of over a hundred forms and showings allowing him to hang with some of the best in just pure h2h.

Im sure you will all agree their ranking should be based on what they have shown so far in comics, taking everything into account.

Don't downplay yourself, SM.
I'd say Batman's combat showings against extremely skilled martial artists and the sheer number of styles (as well as the good practical application of those styles - kudos to ckal) should give him a class 7 status.

So people like Drakon, Dragon, Shiva would be 7 also then?
What about Ben Turner/Bronze Tiger? He's had some low moments recently. However was considered top 3 not too long ago.
