By far... My favorite Marvel movie ever made.... and the first Marvel movie I may go back to see for a second time in the theater...
- Good story - Great Casing, - Nice balance of humor, action, and mythology. - Costume Design was a bit plasticky... but still worked for some reason.
Im also excited for Captain America... based on the trailer I think they might have actually pulled that one off with out making it gimmicky... I'm a little bit concerned with Tommy Lee jones... but I will reserve judgment.... So i Could end up liking Cap more then Thor... we will see...
I'm most excited for Green Lantern just because I'm a huge green lantern fan.... im a lot more concerned with Green Lantern just because of how much CGI it took to even remotely pull off a movie like that.... but based on recent trailers... it seems to have a really stylized look that might actually work... Also I can barley tolerate Ryan Reynolds.... but oddly enough he does seem like the right person to play Hal Jordan
not a comic book movie... but transformers looks pretty fucking cool to

I liked it and thought it was pretty good, but I left the theater a bit under whelmed. I'm not sure if it was because I was tired as hell at the midnight screening, or I had my hopes set so high, but I thought it would be better. I'm definitely going to see it again, and hopefully I'll enjoy it more the next time around. Thor is my favorite character, so I hope it was just that I was so tired the first time I saw it, I felt like I was zoning out.
Thor pulled in an estimated $66 million over the weekend, which is lower than I think we all expected. Not great numbers, but hopefully it has great legs over the coming weeks. We will see.

66 is not that bad.... 11th highest opening for a comic book movie....and 4th highest non sequel comic book movie opening. its also doing good global... We will have to see what its staying power is.... its not The Dark Knight.... but its still a player.
I liked it because it was different then marvels other movies!

I liked the movie a lot. It is good to know that Marvel has a perfect record on their movies being good. True, it will not likely get DK numbers but no one ever will match DK.

Right $66 mil is not bad, but it isn't great either. At least for what they I assume were hoping for. Incredible Hulk opened with $55 mil and that under performed. I'm sure Marvel isn't really happy with this number, but they aren't too upset about it either.
...sigh. Lol. I understand you mean financially, but out of context it looks like the most fanboy-ish Nolan lover comment.
I agree though, Marvel's four films so far have all been great, and most comic book fans are very happy with them. I seriously, SERIOUSLY hope Captain America does at least as well critically and financially as Thor, because if that movie flops, it would be a nightmare. One of Marvel's flag ship characters needs to be very well received. I want all of Marvels movies to do better critically and financially than The Incredible Hulk, but a movie like Ant-Man I care less about, but I still want it to be reviewed well, just so Marvel continues it's reputation for great quality movies. What I'm trying to say is; if Marvel ever has a dud, it better not be on one of their big name characters which is meant to be a massive block buster movie, and/or start a franchise.

But I am not even thinking about TDK when I think of his best work.

I liked the movie a lot. It is good to know that Marvel has a perfect record on their movies being good. True, it will not likely get DK numbers but no one ever will match DK. Dude! there have been some pretty piss poor Marvel movies... X3, Spidy 3, Fantastic 4, not the edword nortan Hulk movie... but the other one.... just to name a few.... Don't get me wrong... none of those compare to Catwomen (supposedly based on a DC character).... but they are pretty far from perfect. I asume you are talking about since the formation of Marvel Studios.... That doesn't really mean anything, and certainly does not excuse any of the bad Marvel based movies... Marvel has always had to signed off on stuff... forming a new production company doesn't change the movie making process.... its still based on who writes it, who directs it, and who is casted to play the parts... There are a lot of people to blame for bad movies... I would be inclined to put most of the blame on the various studios that produce them them.... because it all come down to that.... Maybe when Walt Disney has fulfilled all existing contract and starts producing Marvel movies on its own you will be able to say that Disney has a perfect record of producing Marvel movies.... but Marvel will never have a perfect record when it comes to movies based on their product... p.s. what ever basis you are using to determine perfect will most likely be broken with X-men first class.... they should have stuck to doing the Magneto movie... that thing looks like a heap. I think that if done correctly... the avengers could come somewhat close to the success of TDK... I also disagree that no comic movie will ever beat it.... it will probably be one of the big 3 (superman, batman, or spider-man) who gets the it done though.... those 3 are known really well on a global scale.... its just going to take someone like Chris Nolan to do something revolutionary with the characters... The one thing I like about DC is their inconsistency... Marvel based movies are really consistent in the way they feel... DC takes a lot of chances... some good some bad... and some really good... But DC movies seem to all have a self contained feel to them... kind of makes them unique... thats what I really liked about Thor..... as far as Marvel movies go... it was something a little bit different... Same with Cap... that looks like a pretty cool period piece... I mean both movies kind of have the Marvel feel but they are not a picture perfect marvel stylized movies like Iron Man.... Just my 20 cents (because 2 cents aren't worth anything anymore)

Marvel studios is not in charge of X-Men: First Class. That movie is from 20th Century Fox (I believe). So far Marvel has given us Iron Man 1 and 2, the Incredible Hulk, and Thor, and will be giving us Captain America, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, and possibly movies for other characters like Hawkeye, Hank Pym, and Black Widow within the next few years. ALL other films about Marvel characters (Spider-Man trilogy and re-boot, all X-Men related movies, F4 movies, Daredevil, Ghost Rider, the first Hulk movie, ect) have been created by other studios who simply bought the movie rights to those characters. Marvel had nothing to do with the crappiness of any of those movies.

Are you talking about the Eye of Agamatto and (supposedly) the Infinity Gauntlet in Odin's vault? The reference to Donald Blake? The references to Tony Stark? The reference to Bruce Banner? The reference to Hank Pym? The clip after the credits showing the Cosmic Cube? The appearance of Hawkeye? For all I know, you could be talking about any one of those things.

Lol sorry Dii but I mean Marvel through and through. Not things like Fox movies that purchased the rights to Marvel material. but its not Marvel through and through... Marvel is owned by Walt Disney... yet Paramount studios is in on the deal.... Do you think Disney would do that by choice??? hell no they wouldn't... the fact is just because disney has created a Marvel production company does not change the process... it only changes who funds it and who profits.... the director still directs... and the last time i checked disney hasn't created any new directors for the sole purpose of directing marvel movies.... and if you want to get technical... Marvel isn't even Marvel any more.... its Walt Disney... so there will never be a movie that is Marvel through and through... just as there will never be a DC one.... If you want to say Disney has a perfect record making marvel movies... you can... well actually you cant because they haven't made any :/
