No.. What I'm getting at is... You seem to be suggesting that Disney just bought marvel and let them operate as if nothing has happend.... It is disneys money, disneys investment, and they out out to make a profit..... If you don't think Disney has a hand in every thing marvel is doing your nuts.... It is not not an independent company and it does not operate outside of disneys authority... Nor does dc outside of warner.... Marvel is a product of Disney.... Making movies is a complicated process... pre Disney or post Disney there is always someone funding marvel movies rather it be directly.... Or funneling it through "marvel studios"... Who every has the cash ultimately green lights a project... Prior to Disney there had to be a green light from marvel, who ever was funding a projec, and who ever was distributing the project... So sucsess or failure lultimitly lies in the hand of all 3 parties. Now that marvel and Disney are one entity... It requires only 2 green lights.... Disney and the distribute.... So it is still not nor will it ever be marvel through and through. The only thing that has ever changed is who has the money... That is what dictates everything... You can't claim marvel to be 100% sucsesfull.... Because they were involved in everything... The only difference is that they did not pay for the old one.... But they havnt really paid for anything..... Disney is a lot more picky then 20 century fox about what they will fund I see what you are saying but I still circle back to the fact that you are splitting hairs on verbage. As you said with someone else last page, you are just arguing technicalities.

That's only because the whol concept of marvel being 100% sucsesfull is getting technical... Most people don't look at it that way... There are marvel movies and then there are dc movies... It's that simple.... Peopl don't care if it was funded by marvel studios , Disney, or 20th century fox... X-men 3 was a bad marvel movie... And that's how peopl look at it.... It's getting technical in a overly simplified way to pull the marvel studios card and say that marvel has no responsibility for past movie failures.... That is just not true.
I'm not denying that Disney is not letting as much crap through as 20th century.... Because that is absolutely tru..
But if you stick to this whole "no bad marvel movie" logic.... Then there is no good or bad dc movie.... Or technically no dc movies period.... Because there is no dc studio.... My point is that the fact that there is a sub-production companie called marvel studios doesn't meen anything... A big Hollywood movie is a big hollywood movie... Same pool of directors, producers, actors, and everybody else who help to make it happen.... When it comes down to comic book movies.... credit ultimately goes to the original publisher (dc, marvel, or independent)... Because rather you like it or not.... They let it happen and at the end of the day it is their product and their responsibility for how the product is used.
I don't have a problem with people saying that marvel studios and Disney have been sucsesfull with the product... Where you will run in to a problem with me is when you put it in my face and use it to dismiss bad marvel movies by saying that marvel didn't really make thoes movies.... That is getting technical.... And if you want to get technical... I'm going to get technichle... Marvel doesn't make movies.... Directors make movies..... and a whole lot of other peopl... Marvel isn't even a company any more.... It's a product or a sub company.

Marvel studios has not made a poor movie. Period.
Now let's bring this Thread back on topic, which is the Thor movie. Or make a separate thread for marvel studios. But this discussion will not continue in this thread, or else I will lock it.

I liked the movie a lot. It is good to know that Marvel has a perfect record on their movies being good. True, it will not likely get DK numbers but no one ever will match DK. This a is a reminder of how we got in to this argument.... It has nothing to do with marvel studious.... It has to do with distorting things... Marvel does not have a perfect record.... That is going to piss off dc fans every time becease it's a distortion.... You can't just under simplify and then over simplify things to make marvel as a whole look good.... It's like me saying Chris nolans DC has a perfect record.... I just can get a wayn with a technicality of naming like you can.. Why not just split the thread??? Into Thoreau and marvel studios??!

luna- It is obviously your opinion that nothing Marvel has put out is even close to TDK in quality. I find that Iron Man is a very well rounded and admirably crafted film. The same things you said about TDK; the writing, directing, and acting being exceptional, you can say about Iron Man as well. I like TDK and it is a good movie, but I like it less every time I see it. Too many things about it annoy me. But that's a separate issue I don't feel like discussing. TDK certainly connected on an other worldly level with people and I think tone does have a lot to do with it. The amount of money and impact on people's social lives when it was in theaters is something that rarely happens nowdays. A lot of people enjoy and connect with Iron Man as well, evidenced by the combined $1.2 billion they have made world wide. It is a different way, more light hearted, and everyone loves RDJ as Tony Stark. I'm sorry, i was a little rash when I posted that. I don't mean to bash Marvel Studios or any of their films. I greatly enjoyed all of them, particularly Iron Man and Thor. I really hope they continue to make quality films because I enjoy a good Superhero film, in fact they are some of my favorites. I merely am bothered by the backlash of some people against Nolans films just because TDK was as popular as it was. I think that anything with that kind of mass popularization is target for haters or people to say it really wasn't that good, but it was. I don't know what kind of standards people would like to use in comparison of films but critically and financially there hasn't been another superhero film to touch TDK. Those are the two major tangible areas we can compare and in both TDK excelled. I may be a fanboy because TDK is the only movie I've ever left the theatre with chills about, and I gladly paid to see it 4 times in the theatre. However i don't think that there is any real basis other than mere opinion to say that Marvel has made a better film. Both financially and critically (two concrete ways of comparison) TDK has done better. As for Thor I found that it was to quote Dane "BALLIN", and it's a close second as far as Marvel films go behind the first Iron Man. Everything may have seemed rushed, but I can't really think of any point where they could trim some fat. I think they did exceptionally well at making a film that was both entertaining and respectfult o the source material. The Destroyer Armor was my only major peeeve, but it's not a deal breaker. I think that Loki's role was exceptionally well-played and perhaps my favorite part off the movie. You could really feel for his character. He had the sympathy factor. Easily the best villain in a Marvel Studios film thus-far.

I..don't...understand...why...people...type...like...this. Honestly space bar > three little dots every other word.
I think I might have liked Thor more than Iron Man, due to the Easter Eggs, such as the IG / Thor related items, a much more interest main villian(Stane and Warmonger was a joke, I couldn't take Warmonger seriously, Tony's suit was like a million times better even with barely any more), etc.
Plus Stan's cameo in Thor is probably the best out of all the films thus far.

The only thing that confused me about that clip after the credits was why that Selvig was there. Sure, it had been established that he's bros with Hank Pym and a gamma scientist (either Banner or Sterns, I'm not sure anymore), he knows what SHIELD is, and he rubbed elbows with Thor for a week or so, but it seems like you'd have to be the freakin President of the United States for Nick Fury to personally invite you to see the Cosmic Cube.
