The Guardians have hit dumbfounding levels of idiocy. And always at the point where you find it hard to believe they'd stoop any lower.
Hal and Sinestro are gold together, though.

Best Deathstroke issue so far but Higgins' narration for Deathstroke was still not particularly illuminating besides the fact that his legacy and reputation are the most important things to him, which we already knew.

I agree he wasn't as good as I expected him to be, but you can see him preparing the device even while Bruce hits him. And Bruce was quite enraged, so it wasn't a low-showing for either. It kinda makes it more realistic as opposed to presenting some guy who is Batman level but was hidden all these years. It was also a good opportunity to showcase his tech.

Well, yeah, I'm not expecting him to be successful, kill Bruce and then the book to be renamed, "Nobody and Robin", but if the story continues to be as tight as it has been for the past two issues, I'm game.

I get that Nightwing was holding back a great deal, but a little more respect to him would have been nice.
But the book is still one of my favourites, story-wise.

The Adventures of Sinestro continues to be gold. This is the best buddy-cop book EVER. And I've actually been thinking about making a sig for this site and then there was that one page after Hal hits Sinestro and tells him not to think that he's better than him. It was 3 panels that were just excellent in their progression. I saw one, thought it was awesome, then the next was better, and the last was gold. (Though I think I'd stick with the one of Sinestro laughing.) I could watch the two of these guys fly through space and disagree all day. I did like that Sinestro didn't get all the good shots though. Hal had at least one good jab for Sinestro.

It's a really fun book. I just hope it lasts more than just one storyarc.

I really hope so as well. I'm not sure if and how it will though. Sinestro works best when he's playing off of Hal, so unless they stay together, I don't know how this will work (not that I don't trust the character to be written well if John's stays the writer), and they'd need a reason to stay together for a while. I guess the third army would be a reason. The Guardians are so fucking dumb. They basically said: "We tried this once and it failed. We tried it again and it failed. Now it's time to do the same thing again and hope it will end better." I don't know how different the third army is supposed to be, but the fact that they're calling it "the third army" and not "something totally fucking different" tells me that they're stuck looking at this problem in the same way they always have. Someone tell me what the point of being immortal is when you can't do anything different. Ever.
I haven't gotten a chance to read my other books yet. I have a long trip ahead of me later today so that's when I'll read them. The only books I couldn't wait for were The Adventures of Sinestro and Ultimate Spider-Man.

I actually just remembered a Johns interview in which he did say something among the lines of Sinestro being a GL for at least one more storyarc, but I'll be damned if I recall where I saw it, or the exact quote.
